I've been helping a friend who's getting his life back in track and took him there to get food. Called and it happened to be the day they handed out food. Amazing what he was given. Very orderly process, exceptionally nice people and the quality of food items. Nice to see good people helping others isn't completely dead..

If anyone is in need of food and supplies for your family The Salvation Army is the place to be. I'm not sure buts I think most of the people working there volunteer but never the less their attitude and mannerisms are so on point with the way you would see ones that work at such a place. Make sure you bring whatever you can to show them the number of people you have in your house hold and they will hook you up...

Some thrift stores have gotten WAY out of hand. Goodwill, for one is not even worth going to anymore. What do they pay for the merchandise they sell? NOTHING! But that hasn't stopped those greedy jerks from jacking up the prices they charge. And don't try to BS me with "oh, but they do so much 'good' for the community". So what? That doesn't justify getting donations and then charging so much for stuff!! As for the Salvation Army, well, they're somewhat better as far as prices go. Sometimes you can find good selection of things, depending on the particular store. It's nice when you come across something unexpected, something you want but maybe hadn't thought about. That's one of the thrills of shopping at thrift stores. But, the best thrift stores to shop at, for price and selection, go to a more local place.

Truly caring people. When I worked I had money taken out of my check directly to them. They help in so many ways. Reuniting family by giving them bus tickets. Paying for them to get your California ID. Giving food out to individuals and families. A wonderful organization

As you can expect The Salvation Army is still helping people. This location in particular was giving free flu shots today and handing out food to the needy. They have a brand new building next to the church and family resources building that I'm sure they will put to good use. That's actually where they were doing the free flu shots today. The staff was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable.

It was ok. I thought their prices were too high for used items. They offered only a 10% for seniors/student. But no other promotional/red ticket type offers. Even on very used/damaged/out dated merchandise. Probably not the best place for low income or homeless shoppers. But nice woman's vintage or modern wear for $10 and up..
