The best part of this hotel is its location. It's optimized for traveling to San Francisco. Powell Station and Union Square are a two-minute walk away. It's the main street, so the police are well-organized, so I couldn't see the Homeless around the hotel for five days. The room and breakfast were normal.

1) O’Farrell Street is a very good location. Walkable to Union Square and even Chinatown.

2) Having 2 x Queen sized beds in the rooms (can sleep 4) was awesome for the family.

3) Very clean property and Nicely maintained.

4) Breakfast was simple but nice and warm enough to kickstart the day.

5) Felt very safe staying in the Holiday Inn!

6) Easy to locate good foods near the hotel.

Located in the heart of the city, it's great to have all the public transport available to get us anywhere

Yellow and red line trains run from the airport directly to the room

I stayed here for three nights and am happy to share my experience with you.
The rooms were small but adequate.
The room had all the basic amenities.
The bathroom was very big and clean.

I had breakfast every day and it was enough. It would have been nice to have boiled eggs.
They made two types of eggs everyday and that was good too
There was fruit every day.
There was coffee and tea. There was American breakfast.

Convenient location, friendly man seemed to work every evening, but it's hard to rate this hotel more than 2 stars. 2
5 would perhaps be more fair, but no way it would get 3 from me. Rooms are tired and definitely need to have some repairs. Curtains worn out with holes in places, carpets have seen better days, etc. One of the rooms we were given was looking over an interior alley/whatever and it was terrible. Huge pigeon population in that alley along with the obvious buildup of their feces on every surface all over walls, Windows, window ledges, etc. We immediately had to change that room, which thankfully they were able to accommodate.

The hotel is in a convenient location if you need to be downtown, but this wouldn't be my first choice if I was staying here again.

I also still am awaiting my "greener stay" points despite asking at checkout and contacting once since then and each time being told they would take care of it.

Awesome location and value. Close to shopping, dining, and parking. Front desk staff friendly and recognized us as guests when we entered the lobby. Breakfast staff went out of their way to provide excellent service.

I never leave reviews but have to warn you - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! I would give zero stars if that was an option.

I'm traveling from out of town and usually stay with Holiday Inn as a reliable hotel choice. My god, this hotel's cleanliness and staff were awful. I arrived around 10pm ready to turn in for the night and my room's bedsheets, quilt, pillows were all stained (SEE PICS).

I called to let the night attendant know and he offered to switch my room, which I agreed to. Unfortunately, the second room also had BROWN STAINS all over the sheet tucked under the quilt (SEE PICS). When I called to ask for the room to be refunded so I could leave, the same person told me I'd have to talk to the manager in the morning and he'd refund IF IT WAS TRUE. When I told him that was unacceptable and that cleanliness should be table stakes for any hotel, he told me there was nothing he could do and wouldn't even change the sheets or quilt. I gave different options because I wanted to go to bed, when it should be his role to fix the situation.

He treated me with sarcasm, didn't offer any solutions, implied I was a liar, and hung up on me within two minutes of calling him. What awful service and shameful behavior. I will be calling the manager in the morning - his team needs to do much better.

This review isn't even accounting for the musty smell in the room - I was tired and could've dealt with that. Not sure where I'm supposed to sleep though when the bed is in this state!

The location is great as you have access to most public transportations around SF. The bed sheets could've been cleaner as I saw some black marks on some of them. Breakfast was decent, too, but the quality was lower than I would've expected. The lobby is very small and the luggage is kept in a small cleaning closet, which was surprising.

I stayed for a night recently.

The first room I was given wouldn't open, no lights on the door eg the door lock was broken.

The second room, the heat wouldn't come on. The gentleman on reception said he could control it from there and set the heat but when I got back up to the room it was still not working.

The third room I discovered later only had lukewarm water in the shower which I assumed was a hotel wide problem so there didn't seem to be much point in moving to a 4th room.

The 2 staff on reception I spoke to were both super helpful, efficient and didn't hesitate to solve my problems but several room moves within the first 30 mins of being there isn't a great experience.

The room was clean, housekeeping do a great job but in both the 2nd and 3rd room the bed headboard fabric was severely degraded and basically flaking off (see attached photo). It all adds to to a lack of basic maintenance in the hotel so I can't really recommend this hotel. Its a shame since the hotel is in a great position for public transport and downtown SF access.

I did stay here 3 years ago for a couple of nights and recall the water not being hot then but on check out I was told it was an issue that would be addressed although that time I didn't have any other issues.
