We couldn’t believe we were the only ones. What a beautiful building, it was clean, organized, well maintained and kept. Modern and peaceful. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful information and pieces. Felt a mixture of pride and sadness. Hoping they can add more portraits, pictures, paintings and clothing to their collection.

A fantastic museum! Take your time as you learn about the Gila River Indian Community, made up of two tribes – the Akimel O’otham and the Pee Posh; there is no rush and I was actually the only person here during my visit.

There is an interactive exhibit focused on veterans who served in the major wars and a nicely produced video which outlines major historical events. A great place for folks of all ages to learn and appreciate the rich culture and history of this special area.

This is a beautiful museum! Loved the informational signs and how it was brightly li the areas were. There is a fascinating history that was told visually and through text. This would be a great spot for field trips, learning more about the area, and appreciating the history.

Free entry with an option of donating.

The bottom area had tons of pottery, beautiful baskets, and other interesting historical items that anyone of all ages would be able to appreciate.
The top area had veterans being honored in a personal way and was so touching to learn about the individuals.
My husbands favorite spot was the courtyard area and the roof top where we learned more about the mountains and why they have certain names.

Beautiful museum of my culture. I would have started upstairs and watched the story first, then it makes it easier to understand all the artifacts. I really appreciate it being free so everyone can explore the richness and history of this land they live on.

This museum is super modern, beautifully curated, and free! It's a must-see for everyone living in the valley so you can understand the land you moved to and meet and understand the native people here whose ancestors lived in an amazing symbiotic way in this sonoran desert as water managers and great canal builders. They are innovatively managing water today, too! The whole museum complex is interesting, and there are educational talks you can attend, as well.
