What a horrible experience we just had here with Alex at your food pantry. We drove all the way from Vista to get food and when we arrived had to park at the bottom of a hill, get out the wagon (we were instructed to bring a cart) and walk up to where the food is distributed. I am disabled, do not have the spare gas money to spend getting here and back home (empty-handed), and this was not easy. We arrived at 1:00, but after the extra walking up the hill and wagon ordeal, it took us until 1:03 to get to the top. Once there, I was informed they're closed and told to speak with the supervisor when I inquired further. I walked over to the area where Alex, the supervisor was and waited for her to be available, then spoke with her. She pointed to the clock on her wall which read 1:05 and said she is closed, has handed out all the numbers, and doesn't have anymore food. I explained my situation and she repeated herself. I am completely APPALLED and DISGUSTED at this treatment! There are people walking away with carts FULL of food....they are NOT out of food! (I wonder if she just gave 1 can, 1 bag of beans, 1 box, or 1 vegetable, etc less per person.... this would by far make enough to accommodate an entire "order".). I can not conceive, however, how your church would completely turn us away for food, and so rudely. We specifically went to The Foundry because we previously had a positive experience there at a church service. THIS is NOT the same Christ-like people that The Foundry is remembered for.
What a shame to deny food to God's children. Shame on Alex and shame on The Foundry!

I love this church and am so thankful I found it! I was invited to a BBQ in the park hosted by the church and I met the nicest people. I was impressed by how even the children were pitching in and helping with cleanup. Then I started going, never having heard of the free methodist church. It's a Christian, bible based church. It's not one you go to on Sunday and that's it. It's a small close-knit family and we all help out. There is a big emphasis on helping and ministering to the community which I love. There is a food pantry for the community that is several days a week and run entirely by church volunteers.

I grew up attending church, listening to the Gospel, but not really. Being part of The Foundry Community Church reminded me of what a disciple should be like. It's a true blessing to serve God and serve others.
