RE: Bath Planet (Scottsdale) and Aesops Gables (Home company in New Mexico)

On April 16, 2023, I went to the SAHBA Home Show with the primary objective of finding a bathroom replacement company. I was excited as I felt SAHBA was an excellent reference and would provide reputable companies to start.

My first appointment was with Bath Planet on April 20, 2023, to discuss bathroom remodel. At the end of the day, I felt pressured to put down $3017, with a signed contract. Per contract, bathroom would be started in 7-10 days following measurement and final ordering of parts. The first measurement was done April 25, 2023, and I was told that I would be called to schedule installation as soon as my parts were in.

This was when all the problems began. I have left out details of 2 months of calling, no answer, left messages, no return, but yet payments were still being withdrawn.

I continued calling until finally on June 28, 2023, I spoke to Larry Evans, who told me he was the President of the company in New Mexico. He apologized for the delay in my project and told me that he would look into what was going on, and get my installation expedited. He would call me back. On June 29, 2023, (the very next day), I received an Email stating "we will be canceling the contract and issuing you a full refund. The check will be mailed to you."

I have called and left messages with SAHBA to report this and get their advise. I was told to talk to Courtney, who I have left numerous messages with, but have had no return call.

I am asking you to spread the word that SAHBA Home Show and Bath Planet are not reputable institutions. If this has happened to you or if you have any suggestions, I am open to any help.

This 2022 "show" is incredibly disappointing. The misinformation about "free" parking is shameful. There should have been notice that the free parking was in the west lots only. The west side lots were full in short order, the parking attendants seemed ignorant and rude. The penalty for parking on the east side is $10. The event center staff seemed rude and not well trained to manage the entrance.This was the ever popular 1/2 price for Seniors, Military, 1st responder day.
There are very few home improvement products represented, such as; air conditioning, solar products, hot tubs, beds and outdoor cooking products. The rest are elements best suited for the street fair or swap meet, such as; purses, pillows, sheets, facial vanity products, massage products. The few kitchen small kitchen appliance booths were not active during my visit.
This event should be considered expensive at FREE much less $8 each without discount. I will give it a hard pass next year.

Very glad to have the free parking, even with the construction at TCC! Traffic people did a good job, their biggest issue seemed to be with vendors who did not want to comply with procedures set in place for their parking and unloading needs. It seemed to be majority of vendors were with solar, and pools industry. But still a nice variety. I tend to think there weren't more construction businesses there because they're working!!! A craft area was added, about 1/2 the vendor space. Seemed to be having sales.... Things change and evolve. Again, REALLY appreciate the free parking, even with the TCC construction.

The SAHBA Home Show was not worth visiting. 80% of vendors have absolutely NOTHING to do with builder trades. Tupperware, skin care, etc. If youre looking for a hot tub then may he worth shopping.
