It began with the front desk not being able to find our reservation and check us in. Once she got assistance she was able to get us checked in, only to tell us that the pool was broken and that the elevator was also broken. This was not mentioned on the listing. We went up to our room and only one of the key cards worked. The bathroom shower had a suspicious stain on it, the tiles on the floor were literally popping out and loose, and the chair in the room had an obvious stain/substance that hadn’t been cleaned any time recently. The towels were great for exfoliation. The bed was comfortable, but they definitely don’t wash the duvet piece between customers. We’d also like to point out that the signs on the elevator and the pool had obviously been there for some time - they were laminated and yet still tattered. The breakfast was moderate, but had the saddest looking selection of fresh fruit I’d ever seen. At one point our room card stopped working (at 9am, with one day left in our stay) and the front desk worker told us it was because we had to check out. We had to make her pull up our reservation and re magnetize the only working card. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially due to the lack of ADA compliance. I have no idea how this hotel has such good reviews, please pick somewhere else to enjoy Carlsbad.

This lodging is on the south side of Carlsbad as you enter town on Rt 62. Carlsbad is a very busy town with oil and gas workers spending nights in area hotels! Reservations ahead of time are recommended. Victoria greeted us warmly and made an adjustment to our room request. Our two night’s stay was pleasant. However, if you are a light sleeper, ear plugs are a good idea. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the shower had good pressure. Breakfast was a hot/cold lay out.

The rooms were clean and modern in style. They have many amenities. There is an indoor pool, workout room and a laundry room. They serve a decent breakfast. The room had a fridge and microwave. They did seem to be rather understaffed when sealing with customers and services like breakfast. Pool was rather cool for being indoors. I would return here.

Never a good thing when you arrive after a long day and find the elevator was out. There was a fair amount of road noise. No grab bar in the shower—this is a safety issue. No hook by shower to hang your towel, and any heavy weights in the fitness center.||But we did love the cookies!

When checking in we were assigned a room. When we got to the room the door stop was out and the door was propped open. We went in and noticed they had not finished cleaning the room. I went down stairs while my family stayed in the room holding our luggage. When I got back to the front desk the cleaning lady was telling them they had not finished a whole floor of rooms ( it was 3pm check in time). They told me it would be 30 mins to an hour for the room to be ready. Luckily we had another family with us so we just planned to put our luggage in their room and go eat. I went back up to the room they had assigned us to get my kids out and they told me they found a bug crawling on the bed. I went back to the front desk and let them know and told them I wanted to be given a new room since that one needed to be cleaned and we found a bug. They said after we got back from eating the would have a new room cleaned and ready for us. After getting back from dinner, they had not switched rooms just cleaned the first one we were given. I informed them we had asked to be changed to another room. They had one that was the same size but had been booked to another family but they had not arrived yet. Apparently the check in lady was new and still needed to be trained. She finally said ok ill give you this room and change that family to another one when they get here. So me and my family go to the new room, checked that it had been cleaned and looked around for bugs or trash. Everything looked great so we started to settle in for the night. My son was in the shower and the rest of us were in the room just relaxing when all of a sudden the door clicks and opens. Thank goodness we had pulled the door stop to lock the door because the "new family who had not checked in yet" came walking into our room!! The front desk lady forgot she had given us the new room and checked them in and gave them keys to the same room as well! The next night we needed new towels, since we thought our room was going to be cleaned and we had put all our dirty ones in a pile for the cleaning lady to pick up. When I went to the front desk they told me they were out of towels and would not have any until the morning. So we had to ask for the smaller hand towels and used those. The pool was very small and the AC kept clicking very loudly on and off and the tub held water after a shower. All that being said, the staff were nice and the room we ended up with was ok. So maybe this was a one time thing.

Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and willing to answer questions. This hotel is conveniently located near numerous dining and shopping options. It is also a convenient place to stay for visits to the nearby national parks.

Positive: It was an average hotel charging WAY too much since they lied about amenities. Tiniest 2 queen rooms. . . Negative: So sick of hotels being allowed to take your money and NEVER deliver. Picked and paid extra for indoor pool for my 3 children. No pool, elevator broken with 3 floors, just insincere ?sorry?, but they won?t let you get out of the reservation or refund.

This hotel room is very dirty upon check in. There was a sock and hair band on the floor. The toilet was dirty, used tissue paper was in the trash. The floor is in serious need of a vacuuming. With the hotel charging medium to higher end pricing for the Carlsbad area. There are much better hotels to choose from.
