We stumbled upon the Hawkins House when we realized that Crystal Bridges was randomly closed on Tuesdays. Glen gave us a private tour of the house and it was absolutely incredible. He was so knowledgeable and patient and we learned so much about not only the Hawkins family but also the time period! They have redone the house to match the original time period and it’s just an incredible time capsule of history!! I’d HIGHLY recommend this FREE learning opportunity if you’re in Rogers!! Make sure you take a selfie in the mirror!! It’s one of the original pieces from the house!! So cool!! And ask about the hair wreath!! Thank you again, Glen!!

My kids had a lovely time playing in the children’s portion. But what I would really love to say is the kind lady who gave us the guided tour was patient with my rambunctious 6 year old, and firm in her rules to keep the space preserved. She had suggested hands in the pockets to keep from touching. The next day I took my children to another much larger museum. The 6 year old immediately put his hands in his pockets and was the best behaved out of our large group. (A first for us ) It wouldn’t have happened that way without the help of this quaint little museum and their commitment to sharing the past with all ages. Meeting kids where they are at. Thank you so much! Oh - and just in case she sees this. We found view finders at the other museum. He was OBSESSED with them. Referring back to Hawkins House and how much the technology had changed. Your 15 minute interaction with us has had immeasurable effects with his young life.
