Unfortunately when I visited it was closed and I couldn’t come any other day. I decided to visit anyway and it wasn’t disappointing. You can see a bunch of informative and well preserved exhibits. It already gives you the idea of the gold rush from the outside.

Very nice museum with free entrance, donations are apreciated. We got a wounderful guided tour by the man on site, he told very informative stories. You will know a lot about the life and times of the miners. And you can also walk through the replika of a mine. Learn about the weight of gold and how it was found. There is also an old train on site. The whole place is designed with love and really worth a visit!

A cute and fun little museum with some interactive displays and artifacts from the gold rush era! The docents were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their museum. It's also a great companion museum with the Placer County Courthouse Museum that isn't that far away.

Excellent museum in Auburn, place is rather small and parking is tricky to find at first. Entrance is free but don’t let that deter you, this small museum is highly entertaining and engaging. The “mine” is excellently prepared and highly engaging. Staff is very knowledgable and very friendly. Highly recommended!

Free museum with no pressure to donate. It's not real big but it's a great stop for kids. Plan on 30 minutes to a bit over an hour if you're a reader or want to get chatty with the knowledgeable and friendly volunteer docents.
