La Mirada Library is the best library around. It's neat, clean, and has lots of books and DVDs on the inside. It even inspires me to write my own children's books from Once A Butterfly. I also remembered the inside was slightly different back in the early 2000s when they used to have VHS tapes, but now there are only DVDs.

A small but excellent library with helpful staff and a broad range of library services. As a part of the large Los Angeles County Library system they can offer all the products and services of any large metropolitan library. The staff with whom I interacted were good listeners, patient, and very knowledgeable making my visit productive and pleasant. As an added bonus their "Friends of the Library" organization is colocated expanding library services.

Some observations from using this library on and off for two years:

The goods:
1. It is one of the cleaner libraries around, other than Yorba Linda's
2. There is always enough parking

The bads:
1. It is one of the smallest libraries around, other than La Palma's
2. Some of the front desk staff may be found on the high-horse and are standoffish (the old asian lady)
3. The new manager is incompetent/unprofessional in handling administrative tasks such as handling reports of rude employee behavior

Took my two of my children: 6 and 10. The children's area is really nice with plenty of spaces to sit and explore or just read. They wanted to get on the computers and play educational games, but luckily they need a library card and pin number. They have a small section of Korean, and other East Asian language books as well as Spanish. When I checked out, I need help and the librarian was happy to help.

5-STAR RECOMMENDATION: The La Mirada Public Library is located on La Mirada Boulevard in the city of La Mirada. This establishment is an excellent local library! Good customer service! I would highly suggest anyone visiting the city to check out this location!

The staff are very helpful. It is easy to order books, DVDs, etc from other libraries, and they will hold them for you at no cost. Can't wait until the newly renovated library reopens! It will be great!
