A pleasant surprise up in the El Cerrito hills. Not only a place of peace and meditation but butterflies and hummingbirds. And a chainsaw bear. Take a walk, spin the prayer wheels.

Had to come a long and very difficult way to get there. In case if your not from Richmond, please be careful while driving there: includes narrow and highly elevated road ahead. A very nice place for praying and calmness. Namaste

This monastery is truly an incredible gem hidden away in the hills of Richmond 🙂 The gardens and many beautiful statues outside are really nice to take in and there are many Tibetan prayer wheels that you can walk and mindfully spin while wishing your loved ones and everyone else well. And then when you go inside the peaceful vibe really is strong and they have beautiful statues and a place for anyone to come in a good way and mediate and pray and relax and enjoy the ambiance and the many beautiful paintings and candles and really wholesome welcoming vibe.
Definitely one of my favorite places in the Bay Area to come and relax and recharge in for free. Oh also the have a really nice shop for books, hard to find incense, meditation music, some very beautiful sounding Bells, Vajras, damaru double sided drums, and prayer wheels :).
It's definitely a really cool place and the monks are beyond kind. One of them had a bunch of mangoes that were offered to the monastery that were going ripe all at the same time, and he just gave us as many of them as we could carry 🙂 but anyways this is a legitimately cool spot. Our of perhaps an overabundance respect I only took pictures of the outside, but the inside is really beautiful too 👍🏻❤️

I had a great time with the one thing: spinning prayer wheels, which makes me feel at peace and compassion. I hope I can get a chance to visit that place again.

I was thrilled that this place exist right in El Sobrante, and more excited that they are also offering several Meditations, Teachings, Puja (worship or prayers) for Health, Peace, Long Life and all goodness to come.
Serene and peaceful place, with little flowery garden and teachings of Buddha posted all over the place.
Little hiking place surrounded by beautiful mesmerizing views
