If you're a movie buff, this place has a lot of stuff to check out! If anything, the theater downstairs is pretty cool! I need to do a better job of keeping up with what's playing. Lots of good stuff being shown here.
I came to check out the Godfather exhibit. Some stuff was cool, but most of the footage at this point is more readily accessible, and it can be found on blu-rays if anyone actually still collects physical media. Still, it's nice to see that this stuff is being preserved, and that's the whole point of this place. But that aside, there were tons of exhibits, and they were all worth checking out.

The Academy Museum is surprisingly enjoyable for toddlers! I hadn’t anticipated this, but after visiting today, I decided to become a member. The galleries feature engaging exhibits, including Pixar and cartoon animations, which are perfect for young children. There’s also a cyberpunk gallery on display right now—while I didn’t fully grasp it, it’s exciting to know the museum offers rotating exhibits to keep things fresh. Overall, it’s a fun and dynamic space, and I’m looking forward to returning several times over the next year!

I was looking forward to this museum. I love cinema and watching movies. There was no wait to enter. I was greeted by a friendly security officer who checked my bag. I had my e-ticket scanned and sent in my way to explore on my own. Starting from the top, taking in the breathtaking view from the observation deck. Making my way down, the Toy Story exhibit is my favorite. There is something for everyone! From how animation was developed to costumes, cameras, black and white to color and props. If you can, please do the Oscar Experience! You receive a video of yourself excepting an Oscar on stage with an entire audience watching!

My child and I had a lot of fun at this museum. Seeing the movie exhibits, sets, and props was quite cool. My child loved doing the Oscar Experience as well. They had some new exhibits that weren’t open yet (but probably are now). We had a really good time. She also found some nice flip books at the gift shop (Charlie Chaplin’s Gold Rush for a reasonable price)

This was one of the best Museums I've been to,probably because I love the film industry. All the items are props from a movie. There's something for everyone. A little Disney,sci-fi, horror, comic DC/Marvel, fantasy,etc. It was actually really cool to see the real stuff up close.

The museum is located in the same area as LACMA so you can see two museums in one visit. Parking is available at the LACMA parking lot. The museum itself is 4 stories with individual show rooms with different themes. I came on a Sunday when they were retiring the exhibition in two showrooms so they are closed. It's quite disappointing since I went through the regular exhibit in like 45 min. For a $25 admission fee, I would expect to see more displays. There's a restaurant on the first floor so you can enjoy a drink or grab a bite after your visit.

We loved this museum, it had so many great movie clips playing all over plus cool and interesting exhibits. I suggest allowing at least 4 hours to fully explore this place. Also go up to the top floor, the view is amazing when you walk.outside.

If you love movies and the Academy Awards, this is the place for you. Such great exhibits with a lot of really interesting facts and minutiae about winners and movies.

Two of note were the Godfather and Cyberpunk exhibits. My wife loves the Godfather movies (except III) and she thought the exhibit was amazing. We both loved the Cyberpunk exhibit as it is a genre that we both love, but didn't know there was a name for it. Always learning...

We also ate in the cafe, which was excellent and the staff were super friendly.
