Even during the pandemic, they were still able to bring fun family events to our community. The pumpkin walk was beautiful, my family plans to go again one more time before the end of the season. Can’t wait for the fair to get back in action hopefully next summer!

The Altamont Fair is a historical event which is held in the village of Altamont, NY. This Fair dwarfs that of Schaghticoke and other surrounding fairs, and is a great experience for all ages. It seems that year after year this never loses popularity, and there is plenty of entertainment despite what appears to be decreased interest in such events these days. If crowds are not your thing (which includes myself), heading to the fair during the week or after dark will be a pleasant experience, as it is not nearly as busy during the popular weekend hours. Entertainment, food, rides and vendors are plenty, no one is pushy, and there is a lot to be learned and fun to be had. I highly recommend this to everyone.

I went here for the garden Bros nuclear circus... It was atrocious. Firstly, they had misleading advertising on tickets that I received. In huge letters, It says free ticket. Below that , if you whip out your trusty microscope you can see the fine Print that says "$12 value admit one, child 3-13 with paid adult"... If the font was a bit bigger and it was written in English, I probably would have gotten the message that I had to pay an entry fee.

There were tons of people there on site scratching their heads. All thinking the same thing that I was... This is clearly false advertising and should be investigated.

Then they told me that it was $60 in cash for an adult. So I went to give them a credit card and they told me that the total was $70... So they were charging $10 to use a credit card...

Ridiculous. Needless to say, I left the place.
A friend of mine went in and said it was really dirty and it was mucky all throughout the place... That you basically needed mud boots to navigate yourself around the dirty event.

He also tried to bring in a bottle of water... Which was also forbidden. He said it was hot as hell in the tent and he had no water... Almost passed out... You can buy water there for like 12$ a bottle though if you feel like you may pass out. So there's that.

I really like the parts of it that make it a true fair. I like the local arts, foods, animals, and museums. I like the fact that there is live music and performances such as the circus. I wish the rides were more reasonably priced and the bathrooms more numerous and cleaner. I wish that they would allow less mass buy venders and things with outward political beliefs. I think they should really encourage more local, handmade vendors.

It's a great place to spend time with friends on weekends. The have a lot of activities for children and adults alike. They also sell pins and other stuff in the shop. They also sell fried dough. There's a lot of activities here for people of all ages.

Went to the Harvest & Wine Festival.
Had to stand in two different lines for tickets.
Somehow paid $10.60 for 2 $8 wine tastings. I think they underestimated the crowd, as each vendor needed more space, and more people. Just barely moving clumps of people, all over.
Great idea, poor execution.
Better luck next year.
