The Arizona Museum of Natural History in Mesa is such a cool place where you can learn about Arizona’s history and the world of dinosaurs. It’s home to the biggest collection of dinosaur fossils in the state, with giant skeletons like a mammoth that you when you walk in.

What makes this museum really fun are the interactive exhibits. You can try panning for gold, watch a flash flood happen at Dinosaur Mountain, and even explore a Native American village. The museum also teaches you about the ancient people who lived in Arizona, especially the Hohokam civilization.

You can touch things, see cool light and sound shows, and play with exhibits like the sand dune machine. Plus, there are always new exhibits popping up, like ones that show how flight evolved in animals.

Overall, the Arizona Museum of Natural History is a great mix of fun and learning, and it's a place you won’t want to miss if you’re into dinosaurs, history, or science. And more over, it’s interesting place for all ages!

We had a wonderful time! My young son was a teensy bit scared at first, it's one thing to see a Dino on TV, another in person! Lol, but he loved the exhibits. The rock and mineral one was his favorite, I really like the new expansions they are adding and hope to come back after it's all finished! If they ever add a stegosaurus, I'll take a million photos with it!

Absolutely love it, much bigger than expected. My favorite part was the south and central Native American displays, loads of pottery, status & figures that were on display but I'm into ancient civilizations. The dinosaur exhibits were decent. The gold mine was fun, my daughter collected quite a bit. The old Mesa jail cell was a nice touch & very interesting to see. Will definitely visit again.

Such a fun and unique experience for all ages! We went before going to the airport. It was “museum for all” accessible and beautiful collection of artifacts and fossils.

I only got to see it from the outside during the Mesa Book Festival. The staff had a table across from us and they were an awesome bunch, including Pickles the Velociraptor.

Worth a visit! Relatively cheap ticket price and a lot of fun for kids. There's a room with full scale tyrannosaurus, brontosaurus and triceratops skeletons, our kiddos loved it. Our daughter also loved the lost Dutchman cave exhibit.

Recommend parking in the public lot to the south. In the middle rows there's free three hour parking. The garage next door seems to be all permit.

One complaint is we couldn't find a cafe or room for families for our kids to take a break and have a snack. They recommended going to the lobby but it's pretty small with just a couple of benches that were full. If they had one snack room with some tables it would be perfect! For now make sure your kids have snacks before they go in.

We took our 4 kids aged 16, 14, 12, and 10, and we all had a great time! There's some hands-on stuff, but there's also a lot of reading if you actually want to learn stuff.
The layout isn't the best; there's not a good flow. You end up going past posts you've already seen to get to a new place.
There was a nice kid working there with some artifacts (some real and some replicas) and spent a good amount of time telling us about each of them.
We had fun panning for "gold" outside, but there wasn't anyone there to tell us how to do it, so we just picked out little pieces we could see. It's free, though, and there are little baggies out there to put your "treasure" in.
Also, we had no idea where to park. Website just says "there's lots of public parking". There was only one garage close, and it was permit only. We ended up parking in a 2-hour spot on the street and hoped no one noticed we were there for 4 hours.
