Forgot how great this place is... I also remember a lot of the installations, which are cool, but have been around a while (like 10+ years). We attended the "IMax" style movie that was great. Although much like a few aged installations, I think it's time for a projector upgrade. The movie itself seemed dark. Otherwise the inside temperature was nice and cool. The ocean exploration exhibit was great, with staff that were really helpful and willing to engage in meaningful conversations that were appreciated. We were disappointed that the planetarium was closed for renovations, but look forward to the grand reopening!

Visiting the Arizona Science Center felt like stepping into a time capsule of scientific discovery, where past, present, and future come together in a fascinating blend. The building itself, with its bold design, sets the stage for what’s inside—an immersive experience that has been inspiring minds since 1980. Walking through the interactive exhibits, it’s easy to see how the center has evolved from its early days into the vibrant institution it is today.

The hands-on displays are incredibly engaging, making science feel not only accessible but thrilling. I especially loved how they’ve integrated history into the exhibits, showing the progression of scientific achievements over the decades. From the planetarium, where you can witness the vastness of the universe, to the IMAX theater that brings science to life in larger-than-life ways, every corner of the center feels like an invitation to explore.

What struck me most was the blend of nostalgia and cutting-edge technology. The Arizona Science Center has clearly stayed true to its roots while constantly adapting to new advancements, making it a must-see for both first-time visitors and those returning for another look. It’s a place where you can truly lose yourself in the wonders of science, and leave feeling like you’ve traveled through time, witnessing the evolution of discovery firsthand.

You need all day! We had a great time with our 4 kids aged 16, 14, 12, and 10. This place is only open for 6.5 hours each day, but you could easily do 2 days if you do the shows and demonstrations. We learned a lot! Go see the shows! We saw both the one about whales and the one about space, and we all really enjoyed both.
The people at check-in didn't really seem to know what they were doing. It was our first time there, and they just sent us on our way without telling us about what to expect, giving us a map, or when & what the shows were, etc.
Also, we were on the 3rd floor doing the weather experience (happens every 15 min maybe? And it's maybe 5 min long.) We were halfway through the experience when the security guard told us we needed to leave because they were closing. This was at 3:52. We chose to ignore him to finish the last 2 minutes then made our way downstairs and we're out before 4.
Bottom line: GO! You'll have a great time!

We came at 10:30 and left a lot after 1:30. My 6 yr old probably could have stayed another hour but the 9 & 12 were ready to go. We caught the Blue Whale movie which was 45 minutes. I would have done the space one but kids were hungry so if you plan correctly and have lunch, you prob could make another hour or more here. The floors space it out well.
This place is even better if you use a reciprocal membership which we did from CoSI in Ohio. The movies being included in the entrance is great. Park in the Heritage Garage and we got our ticket validated to make it $5 parking which is a good deal.

We used to frequent the AZ science center but the last time I brought my family was over a year ago as I had been sorely disappointed in the condition/ quality of the exhibits (outdated or out of order) when we would visit and vowed to not return… Today however we stopped by on a whim and I was blown away by all the positive changes that have been made since our last visit. My kids (ages 12,10, and 3) had the best day and throughly enjoyed the Build It exhibit, the hands on lab & a movie which was included in admission. Snack prices were reasonable and staff was very helpful. Plenty of sanitizing stations which is important to me. The gentleman running the Ham radio area and the employee in the lab were exceptionally patient and knowledgeable. Truly a great day with my children, we will be returning again soon because we ran out of time to make it through everything!

Are you looking to beat the heat and not have to spend an arm and a leg? The ASC delivers. Love the design and architecture and all the knowledge and interactivity. Active military gets in for free! It was VERY cold outside. I would like to trade AC units.

Wonderful place. The exhibits are fun and entertaining. Spent about 3 hours here and it was great! The Expedition: Solar System Planetarium thing was fun! It can get cold in there tho. There's a fun bubble exhibit thing (outdoor) and it looked fun (we didn't go) coz the kids (other Ppl's) looked like they were having a blast. A lot of interactive exhibits and even a love show/experiment/showcase. Definitely entertaining for both kids and adults. The bike thing was closed so we didn't get to try.

Not all science centers are the same! This one is incredible with how many exhibits and hands-on activities it has. There are 3 parking garages around the science center. Families with small children will have so much fun, but so will tweens and teens! This is a 4 level science center with an option of using an elevator or stairs. Each level has a restroom and water station. There is a live demonstration on Level 2, which was super informative! Adult ticket prices are $15 after 1 pm for a limited time (the website didn't specify when this would expire so call ahead). Highly recommended!
