Ashara Ekundayo Gallery has been an important asset to the Oakland community. It has been important to me. There aren't many spaces in the Bay Area, that I've seen, that celebrate Black people let alone the Black Woman. I've attended several shows. I have had an opportunity to connect with women of different ages, backgrounds, and ideologies. It has been a blessing to meet with the artists, take pics, even break bread. I'll definitely be stopping by.... "To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven."
