I'm an abstract artist and also a habitual patron of the arts at The Barron Arts Center but theses pictures are for Poets' Nights and the artworks are from People and Paintings Gallery. I will come back and post a more detailed description of some events I've been to but the most important thing is that tonight I got to chat with Cynthia Knight, The Barron Arts Center Director and she is going to play a very important role in my development as a Woodbridge based artist. I'm so looking forward to sharing my artwork with the world!

Just visited the center to attend Decorative Folk Art of Ukraine exhibition. Amazing! Creativity and talent of Ukrainian people are incredible. The Barron Arts Center is an extraordinary architecture piece itself.

Baron Arts Center in downtown Woodbridge is a 19th c. building that houses much memorabilia about our town. The Board of Directors carefully plan and offer a wide variety of cultural events every year, from concerts and lectures to ongoing art exhibits and the fabulous miniature train show in December, which draws thousands of visitors annually to the free exhibit. The Center offers concerts from classical guitar to bluegrass and rock. Exhibits of the works of local artists give viewers a chance to see what inspires these women, men, and school children. The Center holds several "fun-raisers" annually, including flea markets and community dinners, most of whicj are held--for lack of space--at nearby Trinity Episcopal Church, whose magnificent historical building supports a congregation that began in 1698.
Most exhibits at Baron Arts Center are free. Despite its age, the building is accessible--a very secure ramp offers visitors easy access. About the only problem is the relative lack of close parking. Many visitors must park on a very narrow street behind the Center.

Great little place for a short getaway; Especially for younger kids. The trains and tracks look professionally created with attention to detail.
