If you're looking to get into pottery, Belmar Clay Project is the place to go! Rachel, Lisa, Eileen and Jon are incredibly helpful, personable and encouraging. Even the fellow students are always there to lend a helping hand. There is something special about creating your very own dishes and mugs – even when they don't turn out quite like you expect – while finding your people.

Belmar Clay Project is truly incredible - having done ceramics years ago and absolutely loving it, I thought I would take up classes again and check out their studio. I was lucky enough to get into Jon's Tuesday night classes, and had such an amazing time! Jon really helps in kickstarting your skills, and if you have past experience, really building them up to take things steps further. He is extremely knowledgeable about what he does - and instead of just showing you how to throw on the wheel and making you watch, he breaks down every step and explains the "science" and "why" behind each motion. I have stepped out of these classes feeling more confident in what I can do - and I love actually getting to see how much the progress pays off each week. Cannot wait to come back for another session of classes soon!

I attended a class at BCP to make a pinch pot ritual bowl and smudge, and to say the class and overall experience exceeded my expectations, it really did! The class was curated beautifully and had such a wonderful organic energy. It was one of my favorite classes I’ve ever attended somewhere and I am so eager to attend another!

As a beginner aka no clue what I am doing I truly felt like I learned so much from the instructor and owner Rachel. I even made a really cool ring dish by my second visit! She teaches in a way that anyone can understand but also isn’t boring for more experienced potters. I can’t wait to go back as it was not only a learning experience but a great night out!

I have taken the pottery wheel workshops twice and thoroughly enjoyed both the excellent instruction as well as freedom to create what I felt like in the moment. The best part is you can choose to keep any (with a small firing fee) or none of what you make, truly making it your own experience.

Taking a pottery class is the mindfulness we need in this hustle and bustle world. I can’t wait to take more classes and keep learning!
