BCCER is a wonderful wild place where the local university and Audubon society conduct research. I believe it is owned by a local tribe. It's not a place to just drop in and hike but many events are open to the public. Check with Altacal Audubon for better information.

This Reserve is amazing. You can get a private tour with the manager, Eli Godsell. They have yearly events that the public can attend and help out. The butterfly count is coming up soon. In the Fall, they count bats, etc.

Nice little chunk of nature. Be careful if you see a vehicle on the old rail grade it's possible that it's a spray truck. The state sprays round up on there and I got covered by it.
