Cool piece of history to take in while passing through. Take your time to wonder the grounds and take it all in, look up a few of the names in the cemetery when you have a chance. Some great stores are to be found. Ps it's free!!!😎

Great little museum and graveyard run by the chamber of commerce. And free, with nice bathroom and free water. Would blow an hour ago there again.

I was traveling across the country and arrived after the visiter's center was closed.

I was happy to see that the cemetery out back was open, and I was able to visit history.

I have read and written about the kid's life since I was in school, and it was great to be able to see history and put an exact place to memories of reading and pictures I'd looked at for years.

The graves of Billy the Kid and several of his friends. Well maintained. Also the area chamber of commerce building beside the cemetery has local tourist information and clean restrooms.

Very cool! This is American history, right here. It's really a nice little cemetery. The lady in the gift shop at the large museum behind the cemetery told me that Desdemona Maxwell (I hope i have the name right.... also buried in this cemetery) was so upset about Billy's death she put a curse on Pat Garrett! Apparently Billy was loved by the local folks. She also told me where to go see the area of the Maxwell house where he was shot. There is a little walking tour back there. Very interesting, and I really appreciated the conversation with the lady there! ☺️.
