It was my first time trying pottery and I loved it. Cory was a very patient and sweet teacher. She demonstrated everything very well and helped us make our bowls - step by step with very clear instruction. It was a group lesson but only 1 more person was there so it ended up being like a private lesson! I went on a Tuesday at 4pm. I will definitely go back for more!
Also, the place is gorgeous, well designed and very clean.

Such a fun experience! Was super rewarding to see our fun art class culminate in a totally practical manifestation that can be used around the house.

Special shout out to Paige who will go to great lengths to assist her students. 10/10 recommend her class!

My friend and I signed up for the adults beginner wheel throwing class with NO experience and had an absolute blast!

FYI, make sure to slow down as you are coming up to it cause they have a tiny driveway with an even tinier black sign. We missed it the first time around, lol.

We got there a little early because we were worried about parking, but there was nothing to worry about! Bitter Root has about 3-5 spots in front of their store that are specifically reserved for their clients. I would still suggest carpooling tho to make it even easier.

When you enter the store, you can sign in at the counter and then someone will explain everything to you. They provide a locker for you to store your stuff in and aprons so your clothes don't get too dirty. The middle of the store (where the class is held) is so so so cute! They have a little woods theme going on with fairy lights and chandeliers. The classes are limited at 20 potter's wheel/people (+1 for the instructor) and everything is extremely clean. The extra fun part is that they also provide a tripod for you to use to record your experience!

Our instructor, Megan, was the best! She was super clear with her instructions and made sure that no one fell behind. She would invite us up to her wheel and let us see how it is done and what it should look like/what mistakes look like... then she let us run off and make the mistakes ourselves, lol. She and another assistant (Adrianne who was also excellent and helpful) walked around correcting our mistakes and giving tips until everyone had a pretty good bowl to call their own! At the end, they will cut the bowl off the wheel for you and you can select the color that you want it to be. They will fire your piece for you in a couple of weeks and if it survives, then they will text you to come pick it up. At the time of writing this review, I haven't received any notification of my pot (fingers crossed tho!).

Overall, an excellent experience and a super cute little girls night or date night activity! I would love to do this again!

(And for any of y'all with longer nails, don't worry, they will teach you how to work around it!)

I’m a member here! Signing up for BRP was one of the best decisions I made this year! I have been suffering from anxiety and PTSD after a bad car accident. Pottery has helped me so much. This studio is gorgeous and brand new. People are super nice and helpful, and I absolutely love our clay clinic on Thursdays!! Highly recommend ❤️

Beautiful studio, and amazing instructors! I had so much fun in the class. Joan was so good at explaining how to spin the wheel (and also fixing after I messed up).

Beautiful studio with super helpful staff. Excellent selection of tools and glazes. I haven’t taken any classes here yet so I can’t say anything about them.
