This was a very nice find on our way down further south. It is located on the old air base.
The base itself closed in the early 1990s. Theres exhibits about the Berlin Wall, Fallout shelters and gear, the history of the base, and the brave men and women who were stationed here in that time.
The entire family (ages 60 to 13) enjoyed it.
It was really exciting to be able to drive onto the old air force base and show the kids what it was kinda like to be on one.
They have plans to add on to this area, so I'm excited to go back in the future.

This is a very new museum dealing with the cold war. What they have on display is limited at this time, but it is nonetheless interesting and informative. They have ambitious plans for growth, and I am hopeful they will achieve those plans. I hope to return as they continue to expand.

If you are in this area or passing through, the National Cold War Center is definitely a place you will want to stop and visit. It is obvious the research and work that has been put into the museum exhibits. It will be worth your time!

This museum is a hidden gem in Blytheville! Everyone ought to stop in and visit! You will not be disappointed! As a combat veteran and a member of the Arkansas Veterans Commission, I am proud to have it in Mississippi County!

The Blytheville Air Force Base Exhibition showcases the role the base played during the Cold War period after WW2 up till the base closed in 1992. The Captain Thomas video sends shivers up my spine each time I’ve watched it…which is probably 25 times or more!
