Great location. Stayed in the pelican, 1 & 2, great views. There is a fog horn that goes off a few times a minute across the bay. You get used to it but when it's quiet and if you have a hard time sleeping you can hear it quite clearly. Bed was a bit stiff for me. No rugs were inside the house, making it difficult to keep the floor tidy. The seating area is great outside. It would be nice if there was shade, an umbrella or two would have been perfect. Once the fog clears the sun can be quite harsh on the bay. There are a lot of places walking distance, however, the roads, especially going north, don't have sidewalks. I do not recommend walking unless you are just walking to the Tides. All in all, we would come back.

We booked the Harbor Cottage last minute.
The gentleman running the front desk was nice and helpful. Got us set up quickly at 7pm!

I didn’t see pictures beforehand so I was a little surprised at what we got for $300. It’s a small room. Like another review said, there was no AC. Only one window had a screen on it out of three. There is a slight view of the bay from the window/sitting area. The kitchenette is cute and functional with everything you could need.
We enjoyed the hot tub , although it didn’t feel very private because the fence is low towards the street.

I just felt like overall it wasn’t very clean. Some towels had hairs and stains. The bathroom shower was kind of dirty and the toilet paper holder was falling off… Surface level it looked okay but felt dingy in the details.

For the price and the experience we had, I would not stay in this specific cottage again.

Stayed here with Sis, November 10th. Just one night, our room was clean, comfortable beds, coffee machine refrigerator, is all we really needed as it was a stop over, great location, easy parking, quite area with chairs in the back to overlook pier. George at front desk and owner for 20 years was very pleasant helpful, we felt that he’s done a nice update on the rooms. Plus, thankfully he’s keeping the prices reasonable.
I don’t know why it’s only 2 star, I’d give it at least a 3. I’ll definitely be back for a few days next time, as there’s so much to see & nice restaurants in Bodega Bay.

You've driven by this hotel if you've driven through Bodega bay.

I always was curious about those bright colored Adirondack chairs on the lawn out front. Look at those people having such a good time.

What a view of the bay!

The rooms were simple and all that you need! Nothing too fancy but very clean!

I enjoyed my stay.

My family and I stayed here in October 2024. Our room was fantastic. But more importantly my husband had an emergency health issue. George was right there with us all the way.. He went one step beyond. Jen as well was so sweet and caring. They made sure the ambulance arrived and made sure we had rooms as long as needed. Thank you so much. Ron and I love you as family. Rest assured I will recommend you to every one I know.

This is such a sweet vintage motel; unassuming but clean, quiet and dog friendly, with dog blankets. I stayed here twice on this road trip to the Central Coast, and not knowing my itinerary, booked rather last minute. Despite losing cell service I was comfortable knowing it was there for me. George was just great, as were others. I've also stayed here twice in past years and maybe I'll just make it a destination next time, lol.

Can’t beat it for the price. Rooms are a little small but we just need them to sleep not have a party. Location is great and there’s a a convenience store right behind it so you can get whatever you may need. Nice front yard with lawn chairs for hanging out. Overall very pleasant.

Overall, really disappointed by this hotel. I booked a room that was called "large" - and it was by no means large. It had no windows and no air conditioner, so I had to leave the doors open to cool it down - doors that view directly the main seating area, so a complete lack of privacy. Bodega Bay has a fog horn that blows constantly, and with the doors open it was quite audible. There was a deck labeled "private" which is private in the sense that it's just for that room, but has no privacy.

Everything was low end - no conditioner, two towels, two pillows, no hair dryer or iron, and they wouldn't give me a late checkout of one hour, even though I know they weren't fully booked and could easily have accommodated it. Nothing wrong with any of that, but it was at a price point where I would have expected most of these things to be mid range, not low end.

A weird issue: the door to the bathroom isn't full width (I've never seen this before). In the middle of the night with the light off, this led me to stub my toe hard.

The hotel was charming and the area was charming, so I can see how some people like it - but I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it.
