Brown Bear Exhibit - Girdwood, Alaska

It appears that if you go to this part of Alaska, the only way I was going to see a bear was if I went to a zoo. That said, I hate zoos because I feel terrible for the animals. At this exhibit, I felt a bit better because the bears, there were 2, had a pretty good sized area to roam. They were visible, but bring binoculars or zoom lense if you really want to see them.

There were a number of other animals to see as well. It's a pretty cool place to check out.

So much space for the ambassador brown bears, complete with pond and mini cabin. The many viewing areas give visitors great views of the bears playing, swimming, and napping. The elevated walkway is a great addition to both the black bear and brown bear habitats. Good signage. The don’t miss area of AWCC.
