Staff was very friendly and course was good. Definitely play everything short! If you roll off the back of a lot of the greens your ball is gone. Fairways and putting greens were VERY fast compared to a lot of the other courses I've played. Players here on the other hand are not so friendly. We were waiting to tee off as there were people ahead of us in the middle of the fairway approximately 200 yards out. Some lady came up behind us and said we had been slowing everyone down all day. We already started off 15 min behind our tee time as the course was behind as well. Also, she wasn't even the only one there playing that was rude. Never have I ever experienced rude players like this on any of the other courses I have been too. Lady seemed rushed to get done as the sun goes down earlier this time of year. She should've had an earlier tee time, but maybe can't afford it.

Very nice layout. There are a number of memorable dog-legged holes. The pace was great; we finished the round near the 4-hour mark, which seems unheard of these days. The price was decent as well.

The only issue we had was that there were a lot of leaves on a couple of greens. For one hole, my ball ended up underneath a leaf and almost did not find it.

Still, Cherry Island is a nice track to play at.

Enjoyable course, good value for the money. But the course is very disorganized, I was chipping and putting before my round and watching people finish 18 and tee off again on 1. I believe this course is public but still has membership options, so I think the members basically do whatever they want and the public golfers just have to deal with it. The staff ended up being pretty nice, and I recognize I shouldn't be skipping holes without telling them, but it's frustrating as a single to see carts coming from 18 and teeing off when I'm trying to tee off at a time when the first few holes are unoccupied. They also hide tee times for the upcoming hour, so as a single it is very difficult to find a time when it won't be too busy.

The course was in real good shape for winter but we had to quit after the 14th hole because the 2 groups in front of us were playing so slow. We teed off at 8:30 and quit at 12:30 as 3 of our group had to get to work. 4 hours at that point was just too long.

What an awesome place, the staff is awesome and the course is always in good condition unless it was pouring rain but that's everywhere. The course is not too hard but definitely can be some challenges especially if you go out of bounds but even then I could still usually find my ball. Excellent scenery and great food, what a good local course.

Beautiful mature course! Almost no homes lining the golf course for those of us who play like we're slicing pizza.
Staff is very friendly, Mark in the pro shop is incredible!
There are a few things that could use more love (signage, maintenance along paths and open space etc.) but overall a very nice, well laid out course.

The price for a round of golf and a cart is very reasonable. Generally speaking the greens and golf course are in good shape. However for an 18-hole course probably 90% of the golf ball cleaning Gizmo at the tees are inoperable, broken or no water in them. It wouldn't take much to go buy 18 of these things and take care of them everyday to function properly. The other sad deal is the garbage cans that are on each of the tees have no trash bags in them. Why? One of the simplest and easiest costs, a trash bag could be bought to keep the course clean and instead there's just trash and bottles and cans laying outside of all of them. That's pretty lazy where you can't maintain each hole better with litter control. A number of places on the cart paths are so beat up with the irrigation system flooding them out that you would think after day in and day out the facility maintenance crews could see that. Some places are washed out bad and they should be fixed. Basically the course manager needs to take ownership in the facility just to clean up these basic things and make it a much better operation. Starts at the top..... management needs to get and see this.
