This museum was great, and this is coming from someone who, admittedly, is not always entranced by historical sites. But here, I read almost every single information sign, gaining a deeper understanding of this place I was passing through, and its context in New Mexican history. It is evident that so much work and research went into this exhibit and I appreciated it's thoroughness. It may not be glamorous but this is a very high quality museum.

Small museum in original house. Find the rug store, go through the parking lot to the left, and walk down the path to the house. 14 children in that first family. Lots of cultural and historical information.

Charming small museum of hyper-local history including the tradition of weaving. Good clear explanations. Admission is free but donations accepted. You'll need at least ten minutes and less than an hour to visit.

This is a nice little museum. If already coming through Chimayo for the sanctuary and/or restaurant, it's a quick stop for a little history of the area.
