The City of Escondido and its amenities are all backwards. Just look outside the civic center and you'll see what I mean. The employees that work for the City of Escondido are incompetent so it makes sense that the city they run is going to be deficient in every aspect. Beware when you come here.

We went to a sponsored Ted Talk. We paid $120 PER ticket. After one presenter finished I bolted to the restroom because the mc 'suggested' that we try to use the restroom in between presentations, not during. It was not mandatory that we were not allowed to get up or come back in when a presenter was on stage but a reasonable (and understandable) suggestion out of respect for the presenters. While racing back to the auditorium in between presentations one of the elder female 'security guards' stopped me and said "Don't worry about rushing, you can't go back in anyways because the next presenter JUST STARTED." Ummm, I'm sorry I didn't spend $240 to be told I can't watch the presentation that just started because I didn't anticipate my restroom experience taking longer than necessary. I went in anyways and the speaker was literally walking onstage. The audacity of this elder female security guard. And again, It was not a mandatory no re-entry during presentations, nor was there signage, or small print that said no-rentry during presentations. Her demeanor was foul.

Escondido's only large meeting/conference area. For that alone it is beneficial to bringing people from outside of Escondido and spend money here in Escondido.

Excellent theater, especially for a mid-sized town. They are a bit strict on the Covid protocol, so be forewarned. Have your Vax record ready and don't forget your mask. Acoustics were decent. We saw Die Fledermaus Operetta. Good nights entertainment

The staff at city hall in the business license division went out of their way to be helpful. I was genuinely surprised and impressed.
