On August 26, 2024 I made a $300 deposit for a laser procedure Dec 6. On November 26, they called to cancel the procedure saying they did not have access to the machine like they had planned. They told me they would call later to reschedule and it would be about three months out. I said that would not work for me and please return my deposit. The admin told me the deposit was nonrefundable and they would keep it if I didn’t reschedule. I said that was unacceptable and to have the doctor call me. It’s been two weeks! I’m disputing it on my credit card and am furious a company would think it was OK to retain a deposit under any circumstances when they cancel. Should’ve read the other reviews here and steered far far away from this group.
Update… Received a check for $300 postmarked before my review.

We are so grateful our pediatrician referred us to Comprehensive Derm Group and specifically Dr. Cunningham. She consistently goes above and beyond for our daughter and continues to amaze us every time we are in for a visit with her kindness and knowledge. Everyone in the staff is wonderful as well and we gladly make the drive from San Diego.

We came so that Dr. cunningham could remove some small cysts in my daughters skin, they gave us a surgery date for a month later, the surgery went fine, but the wound on my daughter's face did not have enough stitches and did not close well, I called and asked for it to be checked, when we arrived for the appointment (only 4 days after my daughter's surgery) the doctor's assistant is the only one who shows up with the intent to remove the stitches saying that the wound is fine (it's obvious that the assistant doesn't know anything), but we didn't agree, so the doctor showed up for just a few seconds, she says that a tissue has formed in the skin and she only prescribes antibiotics, she gives us an appointment in two days to have the stitches removed.
She did not tell us if the tissue was going to be removed or if she was going to be able to fix what she did wrong. We asked about a tissue forming and how it was not making skin to skin contact. That it looked like it needed another stitch there. There was a gap a few millimeters wide and almost looks like a hole and all she said that it's healing fine.
She did not explain to us what was happening clearly, she is a bad dermatologist, she only cares about charging for a few seconds for a bad job that she did.
We asked her to be careful with my daughters surgery since it was on her face and it was something she did not do.
It seems that they only care about is making a lot of money.
We felt very rushed both times we were there. We had to ask all of the questions (questions that she never answered) instead of them telling us what to expect and what to do. Like how to care for my daughter's wound. I will not recommend anyone here.
It is obvious that they do not care about the well-being of their patients.
I’m extremely unhappy with the service in this horrible place.

Doctors are great, but the front office is lacking. Was able to get a last minute appointment, but had to cancel hours later. Since it was a same day cancellation, they still charged me the cancellation fee. Our appointment wasn't even on their calendar for a full 24 hours and yet we still had to pay. Also, whenever you call the office you are most likely sent to voicemail, where you will have to leave a message for them to call you back. Terrible customer service. Taking my whole family elsewhere for dermatology appointments. Anywhere is better than this place.

I do not recommend this place at all. First visit and their friendliness sells you to trust this place. My daughter needed a cyst removed on her forehead and we were recommended to this place because Dr. Cunningham specializes in children. Our biggest concern that we shared with Dr. Cunningham was that we wanted very minimal scarring and expected the wound closure to be tight when she applied the stitches.
She only put two stitches. One at the top of the wound and the other in the middle. The bottom part of the skin was not making skin to skin contact and was a few millimeters open.
If I had known she worked like this, I could have taken my daughter to TJ for this surgery and I'm sure they would have done a better job.
My daughter developed an infection due to this so we took her in to get seen by Dr Cunningham a few days after her surgery. The nurse that saw us first prior to the Dr. thought we were there to have my daughters stitches removed and was wanting to get started with the procedure and we had to explain why we were there for. Very unprofessional and even looked annoyed as well. When she went to remove my daughters 3m adhesive tape, she tore it off without being gentle at all. We honestly felt discriminated against by her. She didn't acknowledge us the day we went in to have my daughters stitches removed.
We were also charged for this "extra" appointment that we brought her in for. Every time we were there, we were rushed and I had to be the one to ask questions about procedures and next steps.
Dr. Cunningham spent very little time with us and we felt her urgency to move on to her next patient. My biggest regret is not seeing the other negative reviews this place has and could have saved us from a lot of headaches.

Dr. Cunningham was very warm and professional the two times I brought my daughters here. Gave us necessary medication for my daughter's itchy ear when an ENT failed to do so. She has a wonderful way of engaging with kids that puts them at ease. Their line of products and sunscreens are sheer, light and fantastic for skin of color. This place is clean and seems well run.

I think how doctors treat their nurses says it all. I saw Dr Joy today, and she was not only professional, thoughtful, and kind with me, but thankful and generous with her nurse. Dr Joy took the time to address my concerns and I didn't feel rushed at all (which is usually how I feel in a doctor's office).
