I went here for the first time this year and I loved it. My husband and I spent at least two hours here but could have spent more time! I am 34 years old and I loved it. It is for all ages. Adults like to have fun too!

The bathrooms are so clean and updated! I love how much interactive things there are to do. If you love science and nature you will want to check this museum out. I am going to let my pictures do most of the talking.

There is an elevator for people who may be physically disabled. Every employee I talked to was professional and friendly.

We ate at the cafe inside and I was impressed with the quality of their food. I got a Greek chicken wrap.

Mining for gems is an additional cost it is not included with the ticket to the museum. It is worth it if you look at my pictures. The bigger bag can produce bigger gems and the really cool fossils.

There is also a gift shop as well. I bought a couple things myself.

I recommend going here!

Edit: I keep reading how some people blew through the museum in 20 minutes and didn’t think it was interactive enough. Your kids are too young are you chose not to be active with them and it expected it to be a thing where you could just watch your kids at like a playground. It’s not going to be like that if your kids are younger. You are actually going to have to help and play with them.

Very unique place in Decatur. Many different exhibits about animals, space, and rocks. I loved the little aquarium and the alligator exhibit. Lots of interactive exhibits and we loved walking through the little cave area and climbing up into the tree house. Ate at the cafe, the food was good.

This natural science museum is incredible. A must see in Decatur. It's not your typical natural science museum. It has fascinating exhibits for everyone. There is so much to see and do. As a engineer I appreciate how they demonstrate how things work in the natural world. They show how earth is uniquely suited for life in our universe and one exhibit allows you to change the parameters and see what happens to earth. Me and my wife were just passing through Decatur and almost missed this gem. I'm so glad we came.

Great museum for the kids, interactive displays and lots of people around to help and answer questions.
I was expecting more live displays and there just aren't a lot. It's on the smaller side, as well.
I went with my boyfriend, but it would be great for younger kids or kids who get bored easily. It's laid out well and you can do a thorough tour in an hour or two. The gift shop had a lot of cute stuff and the tickets are reasonable.

Fantastic museum and fantastic family experience! First time guests and we were treated so well. Very knowledgeable staff and very helpful! I had a breastfeeding infant with me and the staff were so happy to show me the way to the lactation room. The lactation room was very nice with a changing table, fan, toddler wall busy board, and comfy chair! The littles play area was great and the mining experience was worth the price for my kids (and me!). Definitely considering a membership when my kiddos are a little older!! (They are currently still free)
