I discovered Detour this summer and was blown away by the scope of work, the environment and the kind staff. This place is first class all the way. A diverse collection of fine art, a multitude of styles and a hunger to make the guests that visit aware of the relationship between the collector and the work. What a fantastic place to visit. I have yet to be there for an opening of a featured artist but I'm anxious to visit when one is happening. This is a jewel that I'm sure Red Bank NJ is proud to have in it's midst. The staff was so informative and welcoming. Not at all like many galleries I've visited where staff grudgingly answers your questions and makes you feel like you're bothering them. Here the visitor feels welcome and inspired to investigate some of the artists they find displayed. Finding Detour Gallery was a highlight of my summer.

Detour Gallery is an amazing exhibition and event space just off the beaten path in the heart of one of New Jersey’s best towns. They host exceptional art exhibits and house a tremendous variety of artworks to suit many collectors tastes and budgets. The gallery director is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating, truly an incredible place to visit it’s easy to schedule an appointment and there’s no obligation to buy. If you’re having lunch in Red Bank this art gallery is definitely worth the detour. Highly recommend checking this spot out, their website is awesome too!

What a treasure in my own back yard! We were invited by a featured artist for his opening this past week. I had no idea this gallery even existed in my area. The space is great, the collections are wonderful and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend a visit. Due to Covid, I would call first for hours. Can't wait for the next collection!!

I strongly recommend you visit this amazing Art Gallery space. Not only houses great pieces of art work from many artist from many art forms and from different periods in time, but also vintage pieces you can’t see anywhere else.
I love the book library/collection they have, there must be over 2000 books related to any kind of art from all over the world and time. Is always a pleasure to go there, every exhibition they do you get to see something new and amazing. MS

What a fantastic place. We have been at Detour a few times. We love the gallery space and they always have amazing collections of art works displayed. Also great antic pieces decorating the gallery.
