The DeWitt History Museum is full of photographs and artifacts to tell a story of the different eras of the DeWitt Center. Exhibits highlight the purchase by the Federal government as a WWll hospital. Then as a Mental Hygiene Hospital by the State Department and currently as a government center for Placer County. Each room has a different theme; a historic 1940's kitchen, Camp Flint a German POW camp, exhibits from the WWII Mental Hygiene hospital and the DeWitt government center. I would recommend the tour first, then walking around again on your own. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY

This place was an Army hospital during and after WWII, then became a mental health treatment facility. Most of the grounds now are used for Placer county administration. Very knowledgeable docents. Only open Wednesday afternoons.
