The store manager at store #16259 thought it would be a good idea tonight to come up to mine and my husbands vehicle and start verbally assualting us over fans that were purchased yesterday. My husband returned today to buy 1 more for my son at half price which she “approved” last night. When he went to purchase she said I did not approve that nope, nu huh, and I am the boss honey, I didn’t approve anything. She called him a liar infront of the whole store and was also extremely rude to him. A manager should not call one of your customers a liar. He returned w/in minuets to show her the receipt where he got them for half off and she called him a liar again. I called and asked her name and nicely. Her name is Shermia, said thank you, got it and said goodbye. She called me back, I thought how unprofessional, so I let the call go to v-mail as I was trying to avoid confrontation. That all took place this morning. Tonight I was craving ice cream, so we went back not even concerned about the fan ordeal (or the fact I purchased an empty package yesterday and they would not make it right). Like I said above as we were getting into our vehicle she rudely approaches us saying did you call and ask for my name and # today, I said I did not. She proceeded to call me a liar and I said hold on I called but I only asked for your name. She’s starts acting belligerent, and I sit down in my truck until she starts lying again, this morning she called my husband a liar about the fans, now she’s changed her story to, she approved them last night only, for 14 dollars and made accusations that he was mad they weren’t half price today. He wasn’t mad! We were a bit unnerved being verbally attacked leaving a business by the store manager. In her word the boss round here. That’s the person who represent the Dollar store in my area. She should not yell at my husband over some stupid fans and obviously a stupid mistake. So I let her know she needed to work on her customer service skills because professionals do not act that way. She hollered we are banned from the sto (store) and the police will be called if we come back. That’s fine I can do w/o dollar store I can go to Murphy’s for all my needs.I’m not sure why Shermia (spelling?) has the right to ban me and my husband when she was the one who approached us w/ an attitude. Human response to verbal assault (by a store manager) and false accusations tends to be defending ones self and that’s exacly what I did. We feel she was embarrassed when my husband returned w the receipt and caught her in a lie. This is 2 times in 2 days Dollar General employees have been rude (then attack me and my husband) and I’ve never had an issue before. The store is always nasty and dirty and his hard to push a cart around. I the consumer have a choice to go to a cleaner store where the employees are helpful, prices cheaper, and are not all rude, but I go to help support dg in our community. I could understand had I went to her w an attitude first but We did not ,therefore, I don’t understand why We got banned. I didn’t attack her first, I did however defend myself and husband. Again I just don’t understand how her attacking us as were were trying to leave resulted in us getting banned from the store. I don’t even know the point of her coming to our vehicle nothing was resolved and all she seemed to be mad about was me calling and asking her name and #. Which I only asked for her name I do not need her # Customer service is about smiling, being friendly, helping and assisting customers in anyways possible. If she’s not happy with her job maybe this is not the profession for her. I’m am not trying to put her down maybe she just needs training on how to deal w confrontation and how to welcome customers into YOUR store as she is the representation of what Dollar General is. I’m sure the district manager will take her side. But I idc the situation a manager should never approach a customer to start an argument Sorry this is so long but I am upset and shaking. I’ve never been attacked like that leaving a store, esp by a manager.
