Very nice hike, it’s a short loop. Deers all around. Really enjoyed it. Parking was free, and they were also restrooms available.

Good hiking and nature preserve for the entire family near Emerald Hills/Redwood City. This is a nice educational space to learn about the habitat and wildlife. The only one negative I could think of is that it might be difficult for anyone with mobility issues as the paths are hilly, and not paved. There are several people walking if you’re worried about getting lost, but the paths are well marked. We saw a coyote far up a hill (it was fine, probably more scared of us). Parking might be tough on the weekends, it’s a smaller lot but still worth visiting!

Caught some great views and gorgeous wildflowers here in May ‘23 including Tidy Tips and poppies. Am coming back from some injuries so I appreciated the gentle slopes and relatively smooth paths on the Serpentine and Sunset trails.

Yes, during certain parts of the hike, you will hear the highway. But it is a beautiful hike it does have shaded and forest areas, open areas, and it does have wildflowers, especially if you catch it early spring. It's just the right amount of exercise. It does get warm at the top, but there is a lovely Breeze. Plenty of little Critters and birds. I love how it's local, oh, and did I mention it smells beautiful up there. I gave it five because if it's locality and it's 4 miles great for a short day trip.

Beautiful view of the bay from the vista point.
Trails are well marked.
Had two encounters with group of deers during my hike.

There are two parking areas around the main entrance.
One directly visible from the Edgewood road and there another if you make a turn at the entrance and go down a bit.

A very lovely park, nice trails- shaded and open ones for everyone 's preference. They have benches throughout the park in places with great views. They also have picnic tables close to the main parking lot and restrooms close by. The park is free to visit, dogs are not allowed.

First time there. Gorgeous, gorgeous hiking trails marked really well. Visit the education center the volunteers in there are so helpful. We spoke with John. Very very kind man, who gave us a lot of information about the park. We bought some souvenirs too. They have a board there that's magnetic and every Wednesday they go onto the trails and see what things have bloomed and they add it to the board so you know exactly what animals, insects and flowers you may see!
We will be back!!

It is a nice park with many trails most of which are not difficult. Some are shaded but most are not. You can see highway 280 on one side and the San Francisco Bay on the other side. Lots of wild flowers. We saw 2 deer and a few lizards. Quite a lot of parking. But on a Wednesday morning we still had to park outside on Edgewood Road.
