The Elk Grove Library is a gem, and I genuinely like to spend time there. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming and it's got a nice vibe-everyone is either reading books or looking for books, and it's a refreshing change from life's usual chaos. The staff are beyond helpful and the checkout process is seamless and easy (self-checkout for the win). Returning them is just as simple, with a manual slot and a automatic option that even gives you a return receipt. You can donate books, too. They've got a ton of services that make your life easier.

Here's the catch: sometimes, during certain hours, it feels like the children have taken over, and it gets loud and rowdy. There are no "Kid Police" on duty, so the young'uns often take this as an opportunity to run amok. But if you can time your visits right, it's a solid library, with a great selection of books and other things. They have music, DVDs, and Nintendo Switch and PlayStation games as well.

Great place to hang out during regular school hours. But when school gets out, it become quite noisy. A lot of loud and disrespectful middle schoolers comes. So it's best to come during weekday mornings while the middle schoolers are in school.

I'm new to Elk Grove, having moved here at the beginning of last month, July 1st. I also spent a few days the last 3 weeks utilizing the quiet/ studying areas with available wifi.

Library staff was approachable and helpful. In less than 3 minutes, I was registered-eligible to rent books, tapes, cd's and other materials.

They also shared calendar events/workshops free to all!!

Absolutely DISGUSTING the way the middle schoolers act and are openly ALLOWED to act here. They are screaming and yelling like toddlers and the staff do NOTHING. Do NOT come here past 2pm. It’s DAILY, by the way. Other than that this place is good. But it is 100% ruined as soon as Joseph Kerr gets out.

Really tight parking. Small old building that really needs updating. Second level has access by stairs or small elevator that can accommodate a wheelchair ♿️ but is tight. Carpet flooring is old and really needs replacing or at a minimum a deep cleaning. Understanding that this library branch will be moving to a larger location soon is the best thing to look forward to. Staff can be helpful.

I study in a very quiet location. The adult part is located on the second floor, which reduces noise levels. It's little, but it's of high quality. It's close to a number of fantastic restaurants.
