This church is very focused on including everyone in the work of making the world a more peaceful, just, and compassionate place. They invite people to "follow in the way of Jesus," which leaves room for a wide range of belief and faith practices. There are some people who love to sing and close their eyes, some people who just want some place to serve, some who practice mediation, some who like discussions. They have two Sunday morning worship services, a traditional and a contemporary, and a weekend community meal program, along with hosting other groups and services throughout the week. This church is a community that loves and supports each other and welcomes everyone.

Pastor Matt and all the members are very loving liberal Christians. My family was hurt at a more conservative church. I was reluctant to try any other church, but the online Facebook 11 a.m. service safely convinced me that the good people of EGUMC was my tribe after all.
There is a Friday morning Bible study with Pastor Matt going over the book of Acts. There is a lot of discussion as we read through the scriptures.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of any possibile category - age, race, economic status, sexual or gender identity, you name it, all God's children are welcome and celebrated. The piano player is very good. They just need a choir director, but Pastor Matt has a good voice and he does fine until they find a choir director.
You won't regret going to Elk Grove United Methodist Church.

Use the church to help Christy Cares Outreach feed the unhoused and anyone in need of home cooked meal on Tuesday & Thursday 12-1 pm in the basement.
