A record number of Hispanic parents and teens attended the 14th Annual Drug and Alcohol Prevention and Education Conference last month at the Encinitas Senior and Community Center. The program was hosted by Ms. Beatriz Villarreal, winner of the University of San Diego Remarkable Leaders in Education Award and founder of the Mano a Mano Foundation, a program that empowers Latino parents to help their teenage children succeed by steering clear of drugs and gangs.

Wow this is a beautiful place! Lots of classes Yoga, ballet ect. Cafeteria for lunch. Computer access WiFi (free). Register at front desk to use. TV in computer access room. Good place to meet up with people. Learn about the city of Encinitas. Salt water fish tank is gorgeous

This is a wonderful place for all of the community. The open gym with a beautiful indoor basketball court is the best place for my active teenage son. The staff is extremly helpful. I always see many wonderful activities for people in all aspects of life from youth activities, senior lectures, parents night out and great concerts.

Access and programming all need much improvement. We can’t even g get into the Sr Center without going through the main entrance and way around to the actual senior center. And the Encinitas Center seems to be more for helping the homeless rather than the city’s seniors. It’s very disappointing and probably the worst Sr Center in North County. This is a wealthy community. Why aren’t we helping our seniors?

Receptionist was very helpful. My friend signed up for a class and will also do lunch immediately after the class. She will invite her husband to try the pool room. All players were so friendly. Lots of activities going on. We enjoyed viewing all the local art work. Some gorgeous pieces.
