Took a round dance class today from Marie and Gordon. It was awesome. Good dancing, good food, good floor and great teachers. Local Fair Oaks residents, you have to come and check it out on Tuesdays. Join the fun and meet friendly people.

-- To set the tone for 5-Stars,
1) Fair Oaks is notoriously hilly. This historic clubhouse sits ON TOP one of those hills. The parking (including handicap--pic) is at the base of the hill (see other pic). The long trek to the building from the parking lot is very steep (see pic) by standards of a mobility impaired person (and even a person pushing a wheeled chair/stroller). Once at the building, there is an extensive zig-zag rampway (see pic) to the actual front door's east entrance (think large amusement park wait in line for ride). Minus 2-Stars (1 parking & 1 walking distance from parking)

2) The acoustics were booming for the capacity dinner fundraiser with live DJ that I attended (so minus .5-Star if one wears hearing aids).

3) With above stated, I was also told by event staff that in October 2020, the entire facility/grounds would be closed down 24 months for extensive remodeling--including grading and handicap parking/access. So, stay tuned for Fall 2022!

-- With the tone set above, this quaint facility is
++ one, wood floor great room
++ with a raised theater at the back/west,
++ a large banquet-style kitchen on the north/right side,
++ a small south side entrance (just perfect for a few volunteers to man a raffle ticket table), and
++ one "Raffle/Silent Auction" sized room (holds 2 folding tables along each wall plus room for event attendees to comfortably mosey about the room looking at items).

I went to an exercise class thru the Fair Oaks Recreation and Parks with one of my senior clients. The class was fun and had different aspects to it, so you don't get bored. The class included some yoga, strengthening exercises, a little dance movement and some core exercises to finish the class off. A very good and diverse class for entry level/beginners, seniors. The teacher is also very user friendly and inviting. I went to the class to support and encourage my massage client that movement and socializing is very important to her and anyone's well being. There are a few people in the class that are also inviting to help you manage your experience. I highly recommend this class.

I would highly recommend renting this facility in Old town Fair Oaks, Everyone was very accommodating with a last minute Venue and friendly. Thank You again to all of the staff and Ian, Daniel and Maryanne,,, my friends and family had a wonderful day...

I was at the Fair Oaks Community Center for a class. It was held in the beautifully redecorated Art Center ! Such a great use of Park and Rec funds.

Attended a wedding reception. Parking was a little difficult, and, as a person with disabilities, it would a challenge getting inside, but once there & inside, it was very lovely!
