Overall not a bad program, just a heads up when they say it’s a sped up program they mean it so you gotta stay on top of game. My only complaint was, feel like there needed to be more time spent in actual music production. Instructors were great especially Daniel Dyko he was the best one I had. Very informative and actual showed passion towards music.

It’s a great experience and very hands on. You get to really be in a real world setting from time to time. Classes are small so there is better interaction with the instructors. They are available even on days when there is no school just in case you are having trouble with any project. 10 out of 10

Seriously check out the program and school before applying I know it’s tempting to come to the school for what they call a creative pack but with the money you pay for tuition you could purchase your own equipment and more . Honestly for all the time and money you invest on the course you could learn it all on YouTube . Yes they have great and amazing instructors who if you ask me are overly qualified and underpaid, They are the absolute only reason students continue coming to the school . I thought about leaving because it just felt like a huge waste of time and money midway through the program , The school feels like a cash grab more than a place to help students grow and excel in their craft of study and for the amount of money you pay for tuition I couldn’t understand for the life of me why wasn't cap and gown included in the tuition . Going here will keep you more focused but honestly everything I’ve learned I could’ve got it all from YouTube . A Few times throughout the course YouTube taught me a lot because the course work would be mashed together and rushed along to keep up with the course schedule, from being out a few days for bad weather . Also this is my truth i wrote this to help someone else who may be on the fence with making a choice and confused to see only one image of the institute ,The staff does an amazing job at making the school look good, As it is does have a film department to do so. I appreciate everyone at the school who did welcome me and help me to my academic achievement . Absolutely and I mean Absolutely do not if you are thinking about moving into there student housing please I urge you to find another living arrangement there is someone Named Mike who is very unprofessional ,rude and egotistical, from my understanding they are in charge of student housing I could go on about the nightmare it was dealing with that individual and student housing I’ve reported him to the school as well as several students, Nothing seems to change .The school turns a blind eye to alot of the strange things that go on in the student housing ,they will say its a Third party provider and put responsibility on the student, Its draining getting to the bottom of things and to be honest someone should call the BBB on them edu rent its horrible ,ima leave that there , this is my truth i didn’t write this to spread negativity but share my experience as I would have loved for someone to share there’s . You can create your own experience this was just mines it wasn’t all bad but if you ask me would I do it agin It would be a big No I would do a lot of things agin in this lifetime but going to F.i.r.s.t would not be one of them sorry I hope this helps someone .

This place became a haven for what I thought were tarnished dreams. I became a self-taught freelancer in Graphic Design and Website development years ago and had reached a ceiling in my career. I had no formal education and my first attempt at higher education cost me more than I gained. Until Kathryn from FIRST gave me a tour. I was sold... Not too long after a few seamlessly simple phone calls to comb out my enrollment, came the first day of the rest of my life. FIRST Institute introduced me to a world where everyday people live their dreams and perform in their passions. The faculty and Staff are really invested in their careers yet they still find time in their busy professional schedules to create a safe, kind, thoughtful, and progressive place for technical learning. Class sizes are intimate and active, making individualized attention easy and group learning can be most effective. It’s a magical place. In 11 months, I had a head start and unlimited resources on the career that I thought had left me behind. And even as a graduate, FIRST Institute still makes me a priority, assisting in my post graduation career placement and financial planning. If you’re interested in an affordable education where you can really gain proficiency in the entertainment media industry... THIS IS A SAFE BET!! Honestly coming in with next to no knowledge minus high school ap music theory and high school concert band I have learned so much from here. With the instructors really caring about their jobs and taking time to teach you about the real world. They truly care about all the students and want them to succeed even taking time out from before class to help you fully understand what’s going on. I came in knowing nothing and came out top of my class in the honors program. I owe this school and the instructors and the program directors everything for all the have taught me. Shout out to Genoveva Valle, the program director, and my instructors who really saw me blossom into the audio engineer that I am today. I could go on more about how awesome this school is but it would be a novel.

I had a great experience at F.I.R.S.T. I was in the recording arts program. Lost of great instructors and met some great people along the way. I would definitely recommend this school over full sail. You get a lot of hands on work and no time is waisted. The curriculum isn’t easy but it’s not to difficult. The instructors help you out a lot and make sure you obtain all of the information. I am very confident in my knowledge and skills in engineering and I also even learned a lot about cameras. 10/10 experience.

I enjoyed my experience at F.I.R.S.T. the instructors were knowledgeable and the facility was cool. The career service team especially Liz are great. They will make sure you are prepared properly for job opportunities and they don't give up you even after it has been years that you've gone to the school. The reason I didn't give five stars is because I feel as though certain lessons should have been extended and others could've have been reduced based on what I came to learn. The instructors Eric, Heitor, and Joe were definitely good at what they teach. I'm grateful for the skills I've built attending this institution.

Not one single regret!!! Great school and instructors. Time and money will spent, for sure.
Not only did they teach the principles of digital photography but they taught us the business of photography with hands on applications that enabled us to leave with a professional resume, portfolio, and website all up a running.
Id enroll again without any second thoughts.
My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. It is my hope that an advanced course will become available ... If so, I'm all in!!!
