Impressive institution. Amongst the top ranked in Florida and currently top 4 in the nation amongst public institutions ( according to the WSJ). Walking around and talking to students and faculty they really focus on rewarding the right behavior, like price reductions for volunteer work, getting a first aid certifications , etc. Lots of art around the campus. Lots of activities and thought out support programs - the likes I have not seen anywhere else.

This is an awesome public School. The curriculum is great . The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The dorms and class rooms are nice and clean. Opportunity for improvement is improve the dorm meeting situation. Tiamiami Hall has kitchens but no cafeteria. My son is a junior transfer and was able to stay at Tiamiami hall. It is an absolutely beautiful dormatory. Unfortunately for his senior year, they have been told that they will not be able to stay at this nice dorm. They are offering dorm to new only. It's a bit disappointing.

The education and professors are great. However, not a lot of students want to leave their hometown and there's no real college feel here. Also, restaurant employees cannot speak English, and the admins need to do something about it. On the bright side, I was able to make friends in the 3 clubs that I joined, although half of them don't start until half the semester is over. Need more parking and housing as well.

FIU is huge! BasketbalI Court indoor and outdoor. Volleyball Court with sand. Indoor Volleyball Court as well. Soccer Field. Gym to do almost everything in. This place is endless. I love going here whenever I want to go play basketball. Mutiple food courts. The atmosphere is amazing. The people are amazing. I ask random people all the time where things are and they answer with a smile on their face. I love FIU I hope one day I can be a student and live on campus

Giving a public review as over a year ago I contacted FIU regarding a student that had violated my rights (and they know exactly what the student did) the office of civil rights promptly started avoiding my calls for a response on the matter and Jacqueline Moise Gibbs who assured me that I would get an update on the matter left me hanging on the matter completely. As a former student, and as a woman it’s very frustrating that I received no response to what is a very disheartening situation

I've been going here for a few years working on my BA.

The main complaint that I have is the advisor setup. It isn't the academic advisors, it's the way that any change of plan or program requires meeting with an advisor.

It's needless. I meet with a person on zoom for 2 minutes they say "ok i pushed a button" like why did i have to schedule an appointment 3 weeks prior to this.

The actual professors and programs are good. My experience online and in person has been good.

Registration and financial accounts are difficult to navigate and not helpful.
