Whether you’re a train enthusiast or not you will love the Folsom valley railway! The owner and the train engineer has been running the locomotive for over 30 years. He says the only reason he does it is because he loves seeing the smile on kids faces. This train is not just for kids and adults and DOGS are allowed to ride. The fare is very affordable and the ride is pretty amazing.

My boyfriend and I were out an about one Sunday and saw this little train and we were like we have to ride this! It was awesome! The owner is a great guy and even took our picture and showed us how to get the perfect lighting, filters, etc.

Super fun train ride well worth an affordable fee of $3/person. Awesome conductor who takes your photo for you without needing to ask him. Very funny & friendly man. We had a great experience. My 2 and 6 year old boys loved it (and so did I and my MIL).

Such a great train ride for the little kiddos! $3/person. The conductor takes credit and cash. He's very friendly and great at taking pictures! You pay before you ride. With Covid, every other train cart is closed off. These are mini carts, so you can't really bring much on the ride ( stroller/ car seat).

The best train ride here in Sacramento. The train engineer is such a delight and also very knowledgeable and passionate about photography. He'll give you a tip on how to use your camera for free. And for $3 for the ride, you cannot go wrong. Bring your kids as they will have a blast. And the train actually rides on train tracks too.
