Kept passing by this unique spot to pick up rations and finally got a chance to visit here after my latest NTC rotation. Had to find my current unit and stand there to make sure I’m alive after these grueling moments while staying 2-3 weeks at the box. Love the previous service member get their time to paint their units and represent it aswell like we been to NTC before and had fun kinda. 3ABCT 👍

This is a cool place to see if you ever came through an NTC rotation. You can see all the rocks that were painted by previous military units. There is also a large sign with some of the Ft Irwin history.

This area is located off of the installation so no one has to show an ID card to visit the painted rocks.

First thing you’ll see when you enter Irwin for a rotation and the last. Rocks with paint on them, pretty simple. Just be careful walking around, foot hazards and critters. Bring some water and sunscreen if you’re going to be out there for a while. Lots of memories.

Great to be back here after saying I never wanted to see this place again. These rocks were amazing too revisit some 15 years later after my last rotation to NTC. Many units have left a mark on these rocks and it is a must stop and walk around icon outside the gate. Brought back a lot of pride seeing some of the units I served in. Make the trip up and come see this.

Found this place looking for things to see on the drive to Vegas from San Jose. It was cool to see all the rocks painted by the different units who have trained at Fort Irwin. Awesome place
