Came in for lunch on a Monday and was seated right away. Seemed there were plenty of tables open and staff was friendly. Food arrived very quickly after ordering.

We ordered the shrimp tacos and the mahi mahi tacos. The mahi mahi tacos had a nice char and texture. The taco felt very light and fresh.

The shrimp tacos were delicious but would definitely benefit from being chopped up a little. Got really messy trying to take a bite and having the whole shrimp moving around. I feel it was also a bit over sauced. The shrimp and slaw were fresh.

Service awesome, atmosphere great, so much fun people watching outside. Food was ok. The NE clam chowder was delicious and loaded with clams. The chicken fingers and Italiano sandwich were just ok. Guess I was hoping for more from the reviews. Extra points for the great service and outside seats.

We enjoyed our meals but to me it was no more than diner food. The steak was cooked to the proper temp. My turkey dinner was,like I said, comparable to diner food. Not bad, but nothing special. The waitress was very young and not too attentive but at least the order was correct. I'd say this place is just average but being one of the only sit down restaurants in the Smithville village, you don't have too many other choices.

My husband and I sat at the bar . Stef waited on us , she was fantastic. I asked about the crab bowl she it was delicious and she was right. I couldn’t stop raving about it to my friends. My husband got the meatloaf tower he liked his. Thank you for great service and delicious food.

We chose Fred and Ethel's for both our Rehearsal Party and After Party, and I cannot speak highly enough about their service, professionalism, and overall experience—they were outstanding. Brigit was a joy to work with throughout the entire process. She was always available by phone or email, answering questions and ensuring my vision was brought to life. We were able to arrive an hour early for the Rehearsal Party to set up table decor and other decorations. We opted for a sit-down dinner with an open bar, and Brigit graciously included a complimentary cheese and cracker tray. What a surprise! The bartender and servers were exceptional, and the food was delicious. For the After Party, Fred and Ethel's delivered again with great food and excellent service. Some of our guests, who had rooms in the village for the weekend, returned to the restaurant before leaving on Monday morning just because they enjoyed it so much. My only suggestion is that if you're hosting an event in the backroom, consider bringing a Bluetooth speaker or hiring a DJ, as the room only plays the restaurant's background music. It’s hard to hear, and the type of music playing may not suit the type of gathering your hosting. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be back for dinner and drinks.

The wife and I ate here the other night. I ordered the NY strip and it was great. The sides came with it and they were great as well. My wife ordered the Tavern burger and it was very good. She had them make a disco fry with gouda and it came out really good. My only issue with the food was that the tomato bisque tasted like it was straight out of a can. Had that metallic taste and I did not eat more than a couple bites. It was really warm in the place when we were there with made the dining experience a bit unpleasant after a hot day. Over all we still enjoyed the whole experience and plant to visit again to see how things go.
