I really enjoyed the guided tour that I had of the Smithville Mansion. Cathy, the tour guide, provided a very interesting and enthusiastic tour. The history of H.B. Smith, his family and his company were interesting. There are also many interesting artifacts in the house. Finally, I also liked the trails around the property.

Nice walking/hiking trails. There is a cool floating bridge over the lake. There are some places that are steep and or have stairs. So if you are not good with stairs I would be careful. There are semi regular benches to take a rest at, and the trails are clear and defined.

This is a very nice and well maintained park. there are a variety of dirt hiking trails and stone/clay trails. The trails do a nice job following the river and lake that winds through the park.
Pros. nice long walking trials. We walked for about 4 miles exploring the whole park. The main/long loop is probably about 2 miles. There are a bunch of cool bridges that span the small valleys that the river runs at the bottom of. There is also a long floating bridge that goes across the pond that is cool. There is a good variety of scenery, dense woods, river, lake, waterfall, and there are some historical houses. It appeared that you could do some boating activities.
Cons. The northwest part of the park has trails that are short, and if you kind of wonder you end up on private property. It could use some better signage. We went on a weekend in the winter so it wasn't super crowded, but I could see it getting very crowded in the summer. As a biker, I would not recommend this for biking. It is too crowded.

As a wedding photographer, I can't describe how amazing and unique this place is if you are planning an outdoor wedding celebration. So many opportunities for photos, in any season. My team and I worked here in summer, and we can't wait to photograph a wedding here in October when the leaves change its colors. The guests and the couple had so much fun, it's definitely an unforgettable experience.

This was my first time here. I absolutely loved it! Great walking trails, I took my dog in her stroller and it was fine. There are steps in some areas; we carried the stroller up or down. Great place to go w the kids. They have a playground, places to sit and eat, gazebos. Great date idea.

This park is great and scattered throughout several miles. The first section contains the mansion, historical center, picnic areas and walking trails. Then as you continue down the road there are more trails, more historical sites....Off of E Railroad Ave is the playground, bathroom, more trails, and butterfly garden. Worth checking out. Lots of picnic space, closed and sheltered.

A beautiful and quiet location. Happy to say that this location is open (outside) for walking. You must wear a face covering near others. The birds are in charge here singing their glorious songs. The walk is well worth it around the grounds.
