I genuinely love this place and know it like the back of my hand. I’ve lived here for 2 years and visit about once a week. The trails are beautiful and always well kept. I’ve seen deer, turkey, chipmunks, vultures, turtles, cardinals, blue jays and others I’m sure I’m forgetting. The only downside is everyone seems to know about this place and it gets pretty crowded, especially on weekends. In the summer it can be especially clustered with kids. There’s often people walking the trails and smoking or unleashed dogs running around but I know not everyone understands trail etiquette. I recommend visiting on weekdays during the morning hours.

This Historic Park and Mansion grounds are a great haven for those looking to get out and take a healthy walk in nature. With a variety of environments you may see some interesting wildlife on your trek. From lakeside, to woodland, to hilly forest, to fields, this park has a little something for everyone and is a particularly good spot for avid birders to come and explore. There are plenty of good picnic spots along the trails too.

We enjoyed this place. The trail is well organized and long enough. You can also walk to the smith woods if you like to take a longer stroll. They also offer paid tour, you can check the time online. I love the garden especially, very clean and beautiful!

Absolutely love this place! This is one of our go to spot when we need to get the kids outside to run around and burn off some energy. It totally serene and beautiful here. From the floating bridge, to the dam/waterfall, to the garden and historic village, its absolutely gorgeous here. My understand is they also hold events and have a museum.

Interesting Historical Park. But my timing was all wrong. The grounds of the mansion are stunning, but it wasn't open for tours while I was there. However, there is an underground Railroad muesum and gallery in two of the workers' houses that were open on Saturday, and both were interesting. Lovely park area for picnics and walks.

Has so much! Great picnic areas everywhere, lovely views, awesome spots for family photos. Mansion tours, galleries, school house museum, underground railroad museum, trails for walking/ biking, places to canoe and a hidden awesome playground a bit of a drive further on the road. The playground has more trails, a butterfly garden and accessibility for all.
