We had two queen beds. BOTH had unwashed linens. Then I spoke to another guest and she said her bedding had unwashed menstruation blood and black sock lint. Totally unacceptable. I honestly can't even believe we stayed but it was so late and we were so tired from traveling. We used a sheet from the cabinet and hoped for the best, but that maid should be fired and banned. The rest of the staff was great, but the housekeeping is single handedly ruining this place. The hotel clerks and the lady running the breakfast were great! Yes, it was very noisy with kids. Yes, the in room sofa was grimy. Yes, the outlet on the nightstand didn't work. Yes, breakfast was a great bonus! Yes, the rest of the place seemed pretty good and the carpet in the room seemed surprisingly clean. Yes it was comparatively inexpensive. But I'd gladly pay more for a better experience. You can't put a price on sleeping in filth.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for five nights and found it to be a good value for the money. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.

Upon check-in, I was initially assigned an ADA-accessible room. While I appreciate the design considerations for accessibility, the layout took space from the living area, leaving no separate chair for relaxing or reading—only the bed or the desk chair were available for seating. After the first night, the staff was very accommodating and was able to move me to a room that better suited my needs.

One area that was a bit frustrating was the billing process. Charges were applied to my credit card three different times by the night audit throughout my stay and concluded two days before checkout. This was unusual compared to my past hotel experiences, and unfortunately, there was no one available at the front desk in the mornings to clarify how the charges were being processed. Additionally, I was unable to receive a receipt at checkout due to computer issues, which added to the confusion.

I did not partake in the breakfast, so I cannot comment on that aspect of the stay. However, I did note that the hotel, like many others now, uses multi-user bathroom products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap). While I understand this shift is largely for cost-cutting and sustainability purposes, I personally prefer single-use toiletries due to hygiene concerns and choose to bring my own.

Overall, my experience at this Holiday Inn Express was positive, and I would consider staying again. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful when available. With a little more clarity on billing and front desk availability, it would be an even smoother experience.

We were on a leisure trip to the Elk Grove area. The easy access to I-5 is a plus. The rooms are clean and facility well maintained. The front desk seem overwhelmed while helping a guest before I arrived. Not sure how they ended up charging the guy $172 security deposit while it should just be a holding charge. The thing was while trying to cancel the charge, they ended up charge the guy's VISA another $172. I knew it would be a long time before they get to me, as both clerks were working frantically to recover from the error. The guy was not pleased, even after it was finally cleared up. I suspect the caring factor from the clerk dropped to negative when the clock hit the 3:30 PM mark, and the clerk just wanted to leave work. It is revealing as they were the first words came after the charges were cancelled. I was glad that person departed before I was checked in. Otherwise, I would be watching for erroneous charges.

I had a 1 week stay and it was great! The location is convenient to the i5 freeway easy access to city of Sacramento and Elk Grove. Many stores and food choices nearby. Room cleaned daily. Continental breakfast daily. Tv channel options are limited but overall a great place to stay with decent pricing.

Issues with the bathroom...took 20 minutes to get hot water to shower and the toilet was so low it looked like it belonged in a kindergarten. Thankfully the shower door handle could help in getting up off the toilet. My daughter and I stayed in a similar room in August and the toilet was likewise unusually low. Staff should try to use these to see for themselves. Even my adult daughter found it challenging. My recent room was marked as "accessible" (which is something I don't need) but it was not truly ADA accessible, lack of grab bars around toilet and in shower. The room should be relabeled.
The best part of staying here was the nice staff. Rooms were just so so. Room temp was good, tv worked well, pillows were flat once you put your head on them. The convenient location keeps bringing me back but I'm not sure how long that will last. I did appreciate special Cyberweek pricing that provided an extra discount during my stay.

Hotel was easy to find, and had a really good breakfast! It was perfect for us. We checked in around 7pm, and the guy behind the counter was very nice. We had a minor issue with our key not unlocking the door but it was quickly figured out. Our other option was a couch bed at the in laws and this was a much desired upgrade for us.

I was a little disappointed since we’ve stayed in other Holiday Inn Expresses and they had better basics. There should be 4 towels each for 2 people staying. Especially when they aren't especially thick enough to not become soaked.
There should be more than 1 desk staff to accommodate guests, if nothing else, but for basic security.
The hot water supply is inadequate. Luke warm showers just aren’t acceptable. If it's being powered by solar panels that are noticeable on the roof, they are not good enough!
A simple laundry bag should be provided for the price of the room. $420.00 for the weekend with no pool, jacuzzi or any other amenities is too pricey for this facility!

We arrived at the hotel and was welcomed warmly by front desk. Check in was fast and easy. Got to the room and liked the decor, so calm and relaxing. Next day breakfast was fulfilling. All staff looked happy.
