I've always had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. Each time, I leave feeling well-rested and refreshed. The comfort of the rooms and the quality of service truly stand out. One of the highlights for me is its prime location—it's super convenient with easy access to a variety of local restaurants, making dining out a breeze. Additionally, it's perfectly situated near major tourist spots, which is ideal for exploring the area. On top of that, the proximity to my workplace is an added bonus, allowing me to balance both business and leisure effortlessly.

The hotel staff has always been welcoming, and I particularly appreciated the thoughtful welcome amenity provided during my stay. It’s small touches like this that make the experience feel extra special and personalized. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure stays—its combination of comfort, convenience, and excellent service make it a standout choice.

I love this hotel and stay whenever I visit SF. I love how many floors it has and the rooms are always clean. The store, cafe, & bar downstairs is really convenient. It’s unfortunate the cost of parking has increased so much at the hotel you are already paying for a room. But the garage is safe and convenient. Be aware there is no bathroom fan for those awkward moments of sharing a room when nature calls. Overall, I love this hotel. Good value.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn San Francisco-Golden Gateway was disappointing, and we wouldn’t return.

Positives:
• Staying in a high-floor room offered us a great view.
• The hotel has plenty of elevators, which reduced wait times.

Negatives:
• Parking is outrageously overpriced: $49 per night plus tax. This is simply unacceptable.
• The room had a very unpleasant smell, reminiscent of a nursing home.
• There’s a plastic sheet under the carpet that you can feel and hear with every step – very annoying.
• The TV is extremely outdated. While you can watch regular channels, there are no smart TV features. Instead, guests are only offered the option to purchase movies at ridiculously high prices – a greedy and disappointing service.

Overall, the price-performance ratio is way off, and we wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

This is a great hotel. The staff are great, welcoming and helpful. It is warm, well lit and clean. I would definitely stay here again. The food in the restaurant is good value and the restaurant staff attentive without being intrusive. Two or three minutes walk away is the end of line station for one of the California Cable Car West trolley bus lines, which gives immediate access to the cable car lines. It is quiet and there are plenty of restaurants nearby as well as various shops. Chinatown, Lombard Street and Fisherman's Wharf just a short cable car ride away.

This hotel is good if you come for vacation or business, it has a good location since it is on main streets where you will find many places to eat and bars, in general what helps this hotel is the location it has. You are close to the tram that takes you to the port of San Francisco where you can visit many places in the area. As a tip, you can ask for a room after the 17th floor so you can enjoy the view.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The stay was great, room was clean, breakfast that was complimentary was good as well. This area was a good and safe area to stay at while visiting SF and very local to all the places to site see. Everyone was very nice & they cleaned our room every day. We had a King bed, Ac & heat worked fine the entire stay. They do charge a $30 early check in fee if you want to check in before 3pm & charge for daily parking $45.

Pros: Well-cleaned rooms, good service, and friendly crew members.

Cons: The surrounding area seems a bit unsafe. Parking requires careful driving, as the hotel’s parking lot is quite narrow. (I drove a 2024 GMC Acadia.)

Located in the heart of the city and equidistant from all the top attractions. Easy to get to Golden Gate Park, Marin Headlands, USF, and more. Trolley is steps away. The beds were comfortable and the view from the room was incredible. Make sure you have a high floor. Buffet was great but expensive so get it included. In your rate. Starbucks is about 5 blocks away. Reasonable parking onsite. Enjoy!
