With a modest budget, the foundation has assembled a dedicated team of passionate staff who possess an exceptional knowledge of the Mimbres region and the rich culture of the Mimbres people. Among the highlights of this place are the stunning dioramas meticulously crafted by Bill Hudson, an artist turned self-taught expert on the Mimbres culture. If you're fortunate enough to find Bill around during your visit, take the opportunity to sit down and engage in a captivating conversation. With his encyclopedic knowledge of Mimbres history, Bill will regale you with fascinating insights and stories. It's a worthwhile experience that will undoubtedly deepen your understanding of this ancient culture. Despite having read a couple of books on the subject before my journey to Mimbres, I found that I learned more from Bill than from both books combined. But, the rest of the staff is also very knowledgeable as well as welcoming and you can really feel the love and dedication they have as the current stewards of this treasured land.

Nice historical adobe museum, doctors home, and grounds. The docent was knowledgeable and accommodating (our dog allowed inside the museum and on the trails). All the ruins are still buried so only photos and descriptions of how the settlement once looked.
Worth stopping by for an hour or so when driving Hwy 35 through Mimbres.

I absolutely loved it here !! I took so many pictures ...loved the old rustic wood & adobe ! There is so much to see & do ! We walked around the site & then made our way down to the river !! It was so beautiful !! Very peaceful & relaxing ! A nice hike & the water was so inviting. .... I Almost put my toes in👣 !! Thank you for an awesome day ! 🍀❤️🙌
