Nice little museum at the edge of town. We were there to get information about stargazing, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately the area had too much night pollution, houses, streets lights, nearby towns and the windmills safety lights. I was told 20 years ago this area was perfect for stargazing but progress had changed all that.

I love this place. It's small but mighty! I've experienced it in a few ways - dropping in for a stargazing event, an afternoon activity day, and on a random Sunday and each time I've created great memories. When we went on a Sunday morning, we had the whole place to ourselves. The staff was so kind and helpful, always. Ryan was working the front desk and I sheepishly asked if he could help educate my littles on what's in the museum. We were the only ones there, so when he gracefully agreed, we basically had a private tour. The star gazing events are so much fun. When I went there were a couple of telescopes set out for us to see through. The activity afternoon was fantastic, they were providing education/information and had several activity options, including painting little clay pots. A hidden gem in the Imperial Valley, if you ask me. Thanks IVDM! Oh, and stop by the gift shop, it's very reasonably priced and you're supporting a great cause, anything from a fossilized shark's tooth for $1, $5 fossils, $10 stuffies to pottery made by an indigenous artist in the traditional style for $$$.

Small space with a great exhibit. I was impressed with how nice and well maintained the museum is. The staff is very friendly and informed. I happened to go on museum day and they had additional activities to do. My 9yo enjoyed the visit which is good because at that age she can be hit or miss in museums.

We have visited the museum as part of Harvest Host Boondockers Welcome. My two girls and I were very impressed by the quantity and quality of the artifacts found here. I have studied Native Studies as my major in university in Canada, and I appreciate the value of seeing it in another country. The path outside is very cute and lots of information are provided. If you can stop, it is worth the detour!

This museum is so unique and educational. I love the displays, local artifacts and abundance of information. Friendly helpful staff, a great stop when you're driving through or want to learn more about the history of the land in Imperial Valley.

Cute little museum, and gift shop with fun, interesting gifts! The classes and community events are wonderful addition to Ocotillo life. If planning on spending a few hours here for one of their classes or events, bring allergy meds and sunblock (if outdoors).
