Absolutely outstanding service from Kirk! From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make our check-in seamless and stress-free. He greeted us with a warm smile, promptly helped with our bags from the car, and made the entire process effortless. Not only did he assist with check-in, but he also ensured our luggage was delivered to our room with care. His friendly demeanor and professionalism truly stood out, and his local recommendations were fantastic! Kirk is the definition of top-tier hospitality, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Kirk, for making our stay exceptional!

My wife and I generally stay at hotels a bit closer to the GasLamp district but decided to give the waterfront area a try and we were very happy we did. We enjoyed walking along the bayfront including the Portside Pier and Seaport Village areas. The walk to the Gaslamp area was fine as we enjoy wandering the city. The hotel itself is very nice – clean, modern and bright. The staff from the front desk to the parking valet are all very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed afternoon refreshments at the lobby bar and found the bartenders to also be very friendly and helpful. Our room had a great view of the waterfront and USS Midway. The room was clean and comfortable with a huge walk in shower. We would very happily stay here again and recommend it without hesitation.

Everything was fine. Safe location. Parking spots are normal size and not too tight like other hotels. Breakfast restaurant is good.
Water pressure is bad, and there’s no vents in the bathroom. Rooms are normal but has no type of ventilation. Can’t feel that nice ocean breeze.
While the hotel isn’t kid-UNfriendly, it didn’t have much for kids to do on in the hotel. Maybe set aside a small meeting room for board games, coloring station, etc. probably would pay dividends, looking at the amount of kids eating breakfast in the mornings.

Such a great stay! We came down for a family trip to Lego Land but wanted to stay in SD vs. Carlsbad.

Our two queen room had an amazing view of the USS Midway which blew away our two boys. Great amount of space for a family of four. Overall, the hotel was clean, quiet, staff were all friendly and helpful, and valet was quick.

Our star of the show was Kirk, who was our bellman. We ran into him all over the hotel and he was always happy to hear whatever tales of adventures my kids had that day. He was hospitality through and through.

This hotel is my absolute favorite in San Diego! I have stayed other places on occasion because of availability and I am always so bummed I didn’t stay at the Intercontinental. The rooms are lovely and so are the views but it is the people who truly make the experience. From my arrival with valet/ bellman Robert was so helpful and patient. He is a newer addition to the staff here and a great fit! Keisha at Vistal has been here for the many year I have visited. She was so kind to my mother when I was here a few years ago. My mom is disabled and she couldn’t have been more helpful and kind.

Lastly and I can’t express enough about Maria, at the front desk! I adore her. She carries a huge light in her and her hospitality is on point! When I arrived we both got so excited to see each other. Truly lovely to arrive at a hotel and feel like it is home.

I am due to come back for Fourth of July weekend and I can’t wait!

Upon arrival I was greeted with a big smile, warm towel, drink, and welcome letter to thank me for my loyalty, Diamond Ambassador status. I travel 50-70 days each year and this is something that I had never experienced in the US, only overseas. What a GREAT way to start my visit as I felt welcomed.

This was only the beginning as the lounge crew took it to the next level with their daily exceptional service. Kudos to Nick, Arsema, and Maritza (welcome to the team) on a job well done.

But it doesn't stop there.

One night I came in a little late so I decided to have a drink at the bar. Not only did I enjoy a deep conversation about life with David (I really appreciate the advice), he also taught me a new trick on how to smoke my bourbon once I got home.

If you have made it this far the answer is yes. I HIGHLY recommend this property based on the service, view, proximity to the airport, Gaslamp, etc. A perfect 10 in my book.

What a great hotel! From the check-in greeting all the way to check out, everyone was fantastic. The room was luxurious and super clean with a phenomenal view. You can't beat the location as it's close to so many fun things to do!

We visited San Diego many times but never staying at this specific Intercontinental location . Celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary we were looking for a location within close driving distance to the Cabrillo monument and within walking distance to the Marine, Little Italy and the Gas Lamp district.
EXCELLENT location to all three!

Manager Karina is truly a gem for Intercontinental Hotel … Karina made our milestone 40th wedding anniversary extra special for us , by delivering a wine and cheese platter to our room after a day of Sightseeing in San Diego.
It was not the Wine and Cheese platter that made it so special, although it was warmly received, it was the Sincerity and Warmth we felt from Karina that made the gesture even more special.
Love the whole Intercontinental Staff at this location.
