Johansson Projects is a great gallery and the owner, Kimberly Johansson, is knowledgeable, communicative and extremely helpful. She represents a host of gifted artists including the artist Miguel Arzabe whose work I was particularly drawn to. Worthwhile to drop in to check out the art if youโ€™re local or happen to find yourself in the East Bay.

If you ever find yourself at Art Murmur, Oakland's first Friday evening art walk, you might notice that there really isn't much art, and much of what is there can be, well, questionable.
Conversely, you'll always be wowed by whatever is at Johansson, even if you don't like it! They find artists dedicated to their media and craft. No tiresome skulls, dragons, or hobbitts will enter this space.
This is a serious gallery for real artists.
