On a Thursday in September we parked on the residential street Hancock Dr at E. Natoma St. joining the trail there. We walked our dog LuLu Southwesterly and included the spur to Folsom Prison and back to the trail exiting at Stafford St. near Folsom Zoo. A few bikes, a few walkers and runners but not crowded. Total distance was a tad over 3-miles. Then stopped for a great lunch at the Represa Grill on E. Natoma at Stafford St. Great time!

Great trail for all seasons. You can walk, ride bicycle, skate on the trek. Paths are properly constructed. It is beside the Folsom prison, make sure to not do anything that lands you in trouble. It is a pretty long trek, would definitely recommend this place for folsom. I completed half the trek, next time would target for completing full trek.

Kudos to the Folsom City government for making the bike trails in Folsom so much fun and easy to use. The latest project is to open up new sections of the Johnny Cash Trail, which extends from Folsom Prison to the pedestrian bridge over the Folsom Lake Crossing road. There is also a new tunnel going in under Prison Road at E. Natoma Street, so bikers won't have to stop for traffic on that busy road. There is also an extension from Prison Road, across prison property, going towards the American River and connecting to the existing bike path at Rodeo Park. Wonderful trail that is expected to open Oct. 14, 2017

A very well-maintained trail. Great for taking a spin on our electric bikes. Very close to downtown Folsom so you can grab a meal and some shopping and wine tasting while there.

Great addition to the Folsom bike trails. It provides a convenient way for riding your bike from downtown Folsom to Folsom Lake. It has a few difficult hills that makes it a little challenging, but overall it is a pretty easy ride. There is a convenient under passing under one of the prison roads to allow you to bypass the street light. There's also a beautiful new bridge built that spans the ravine.

Very nice at this time of year. Lots of flowers on the side of the bike path next to the rainbow bridge. The path loops around and is great for a bike ride. There is a good amount of uphill and downhill though so be prepared for a workout and bring water.

This was more of a walk than a hike, but its still really beautiful. it's really easy to get to, and fully paved so it's accessible to just about anyone. We got lucky to catch views of wildlife before they scampered off. I only did half the trail next time I will do the whole thing

Looovvveeeeddd our visit here. Nice place to enjoy the beautiful weather, scenery and very nice people and pets. We had a blast and will continue to come here !!!! The kids had so much fun too. And so did our fur baby !!!!!!! I highly recommend this trail. So many places to stop and take pictures/rest/eat or just chill the water is so clear and beautiful. Heres some pictures I took hundreds becuz thats what I do lol. I'll upload a few or so 😄
